Intended or not, I believe one reason why he partnered with his brother for the Manningcast was keeping his presence front and center before the Board of Selectors until his eligibility hits.
More likely it was because of his relationship with his brother. They enjoy talking about stuff together. I doubt there was much calculation in it on the part of Eli. Peyton was likely calculating a good career move, and invited his brother to join him.

Correct, Gale sayers is a good example of a player that should not have made it on what I mean he had no production no rings never was on a great team and yet somehow that's something that Ezekiel Elliott did in 1 1/2 seasons so this guy got in because of his name and his projections and you should never be allowed in the Hall of Fame on what you might do like for example Bo Jackson I mean he's not in right but same thing they let GAIL Sayers in Bo Jackson had the same thing happened to him injury shortened but had all the talent in the world to be a Hall of Famer but you can't do that
Gayle Sayers should be in. Bo Jackson should be in, Terrell Davis should be in Rings have squat to do with the hall. I'll say it again CHAMPIONSHIPS HAVE ZERO, ZILCH TO DO WITH THE HALL !

Players talent, accomplishments and impact on the game has EVERYTHING to do with the hall. The hall is about more than the lust for a RING

I'm not coming for your neck in any way, it's just that this was a good jump off point to point this out.

Jim Plunkett was a mediocre QB for half his career, and doesn't have a single post-season award. Eli Manning is 10th all-time in passing yards and passing touchdowns, had four Pro Bowls, and is a 2x Super Bowl MVP. Eli is getting in, Plunkett is not.
Eli's entire HOF consideration is based on beating the GOAT and the GOAT HC.
Twice.
Well that, and his last name.
His career W/L percentage as a 15 year starter is .500. 118-118.

Those stats you mention are called longevity stats.
Because he never missed a game from injury.
Ever.

Every QB ahead of him played longer except for Matt Ryan, who played one less year. If you play that long as a starter, you're probably pretty damn good.

Besides, he has the GOAT goofy face.

No worries.
Opinions vary I guess.
He does have the GOAT goofy face.

IMO we let too many players into the HOF. Huge Romo fan, but I can't support him getting into the hall.
Too many?! I think it's quite the opposite. There's a huge backlog of players that keep getting dragged along because of the 5 player annual limit.

Romo isn't getting anywhere near the HOF. This is the long list, not the list of finalists that will come out later. This is really just a list of guys who are eligible.

Like Romo a lot. But no way is he a HOF player. 2 playoff wins in his career and not even a single conference title game appearance. Sorry, no way. That entire class is as weak as anything I have ever seen. Not one of them is worthy.

Sucks he was wasted with crap coaching and a garbage GM. I wonder if the voters take that into consideration?
Not to mention that he was a catch away from making it to at least an NFCC game. Plus, he'd have been going against a Seattle team that he had thrashed earlier that season.

Ken Stabler had the highest completion percentage over his career of any of the great QBs of his era. He won a Super Bowl against a future Hall of Fame QB. His Raiders team ended the Dolphin’s long winning streak. He was also a great come from behind QB. He was a much better QB than Jim Plunkett.
Fair enough. There are other Hall of Fame QBs who could be mentioned instead. Stabler was primarily mentioned because of how long he had to wait.

Is Lowest Sack Percentage a QB credit or an O-line credit? It seems like it should be the latter, and if so, greatly helps the rest of his stats. :p

Look, Marino was a great QB. As a pure passer, definitely better than Romo, possibly the best ever. I'm not in any way disparaging the man. I'm just pointing out that Romo did have his greatness as well, and just because his teams didn't reach the pinnacle, it doesn't mean he shouldn't be considered for the HoF.

Sorry I disagree larger sample sizes are needed for bow and GAIL but it's too late they put in jail but bow they won't make the same mistake with him.. I'm not gonna debate it I think you need a much larger sample size and of course Terrell Davis should be in there the dude had close to 7000 yards and a lot of touchdowns and he's got rings so yeah he belongs in there but if rings don't matter then why wouldn't you put a zekiel Ellie in there who has better stats than Terrell Davis couple rushing crowns would have had three in a row that's my point if it has nothing to do with rings then we should see that Ezekiel Elliott should be considered most guys as far as running backs are concerned really are supposed to hit the 10,000 mark or above to be considered that's been the new standard for a long time but if they put Tyrell in there why can't they put Ezekiel Elliott in there??
