Twitter: Tony Romo Postgame Comments

He might lead a good team in the AFC to great things. Looked very sharp out there and I know he increased his value for perspective suitors.

Wish nothing but good things for him and he has a RoH spot waiting for him when he hangs 'em up for good.

Great regular season QB and an even better person.

The AFC would be a 2 horse race. It's unreal looking at the playoff teams from the AFC. It's New England and about a million mile gap to the rest. Carr was playing well but injuries happen and now that they are onto their third qb. Only Dallas could survive that!

Any one of those other teams would be dramatically improved with Romo. Which is why I'm still holding out hope one of them will give us something in trade.

Tony Romo gives the dallas cowboys the best chance to win a superbowl this year

Well the better question is if we are down 21-0 at the half against that Giants D, do we trot Romo out there for the second half.

Romo ain't going to start, thats a guarantee. But what do we do with our backs against the wall when Dak hasn't scored that much on them in a full game all season.

Yep. He'll be on another team next year and we'll have to spend more on replacing him than we'll get from losing him. Fortunately, we're in good hands. But some team will get themselves an elite QB for 1-2 years and we won't get much in return.

I don't like the idea. ROMO as a Cowboy, forever!

To me, it felt good to see Tony smile again and much to our delight, his brief time spent as our QB Sunday proved successful. It'll probably be his last experiences this year as our QB if he's destined to be a starting QB elsewhere. It's been a pleasure getting to know him both as a QB and as an individual greatly worthy of respect. Whatever happens in the future, I'll wish him success wherever he plays, even if it's not for the Cowboys.

I love Romo but it's obvious that he is working hard not to say that the Cowboys are wrong to play the rookie and he is bitter while keeping his mouth shut. I get it but I'm also feeling like the team isn't as important for Romo as his playing time is. I hate to say that because I'm definitely a guy who feels like he has given his body for this franchise and deserves our respect.
So you believe that Romo thinks Dak is better, but Romo should play anyway? Because that's the only way your comment makes sense. Everyone should want the best players on the field if they think about the team first. If Romo believes he's the best quarterback on the team, then he'd naturally believe that him playing would be best for the team.

Perhaps Romo realized that the team responded to Dak in ways that he hadn't seen since he first became the Cowboys' young savior. Sometimes, it's best to take a back seat if you really want what's best for the players and the team as a whole. I think that's probably why he acted as he did.

I think people are also dismissing the fact that he's never taken the time to fully heal because he's as competitive as they come.
That's a great trait for a team guy.
either way ,want is on FO's of other teams minds are the frequent back and collar bone injuries.
its big news no matter the reality

He thinks that privately ,yes

splain how we'll spend more replacing a back up QB and the current back up is like20M or so

I think the 'team responded' stuff is hugely overblown. Did the team not respond in 2014? The team responds when it has good players. Just yesterday the team responded to Romo and seemingly didn't respond to Sanchez. Why? Because Sanchez sucks. When Weeden is handing off to Randle the team looks like it's not responding, but the fact is those players just aren't good enough to make everyone else's efforts pay off. If Romo had thought the team had some magic in Dak he wouldn't have asked for the opportunity to win the job back. He asked for that opportunity because he was confident he would win it back, because he believes he's better. I, and quite few other people, think he's right. He had his press conference after they denied him the opportunity to compete, that was for the team. But it doesn't mean he thinks Dak is better, it just means he didn't want to divide the team with controversy after the coaches had decided they wanted to keep playing the 'hot hand.'

Because we'll have dead money. In effect we'll be paying Romo to be someplace else while also paying a Sanchez to be here.

Success breeds popularity. Let's face it -- it's been a long time since we've enjoyed the kind of success that Dak and Zeke provide today. I don't think the team's response is necessarily overblown at all. Even Witten has responded positively to the change. Romo is realistic and respects Dak, just like Dak does likewise. Romo has become far more subject to injury the last few years and that causes serious doubts among the fans, even among those who have supported Romo in the past. Nevertheless, of course Romo believes he's better -- he wouldn't be an NFL QB if he didn't.

Tony realizes his injury mortality as much as anyone. I'm not inclined get into a long discussion debating the pros and cons of Romo as compared to Dak -- it simply isn't desirable nor productive doing so, imho. I think both Dak and Romo are excellent QBs. I'm sure the fact that Dak has been so successful for a young rookie is weighing heavily in his favor but that he's subject to learning much more before he's at Romo's level in terms of reading defenses and overall understanding of his craft. Nevertheless, what's happened isn't going to change. I think it'll work out for the best in the end but then, only time will tell.

I don't like the idea. DEMARCUS WARE is a Cowboy, forever!
I don't like the idea. EMMITT SMITH is a Cowboy, forever!
I don't like the idea. TONY DORSETT is a Cowboy, forever!

Etc., etc. Life is life.

Will say it again
This franchise would be moronic to let Romo walk without top compensation
He makes Denver or Houston or Miami instant SB contenders
In my opinion, there's a legitimate possibility that the franchise will be labeled moronic if that's the circumstance. Romo's gone. The team's projected compensation for his departure has been debated at length by fans and media alike, with a very diverse range of conclusions.

I doubt there will be a logical consensus defining top compensation for Romo. However, there is one area where the franchise is well-versed and that's being extremely criticized concerning player transactions. So there's a silver lining in that aspect.

Romo is talking about himself - just saying because his practices went well that he, himself, expected to play well on game day. Sometimes people actually say what they mean and mean what they say.
I assume he meant exactly what he said, which is that he practices like he plays. It's also true that he said this in the context of playing behind a player who doesn't, according to his GM.
