Just great and expected comments.
Writers like that weasle, Tim Cowlishaw, are butt hurt because he deferred bigger picture question about this. Those writers are just being juvenile and selfish because he wasn't taking the potentially controversial bait.
Tony took the high road like he almost always does.
So did Dak, btw.

I love how it turned out even how Sanchez looked.

Basically it demonstrated very clearly to NFL scouts what they could have for a premium versus what they get for free. That could be the difference between a third round pick and a first.

If we are down big in any playoff games....he will be entering stage right. Dude looked smooth yesterday.

I particularly enjoyed the subtlety of the Sanchez comment, lol. His performance pretty much speaks for itself, although the fact that he hasn't been active in games probably hasn't done him any favors. I think it'll be interesting to see what action, or perhaps even the lack thereof, might be forthcoming during the offseason and beyond. I can only imagine that Mark Sanchez is likely having nightmares right about now. I'm pretty doggone sure I would in his shoes . . .

Back off the hate. He has taken plenty of beatings in his career. Romo is a class act in every way and deserves way more respect than he gets from the Cowboy fan base.

If I could not go to work because of health reasons, they would give my job to someone else and eventually I would be fired.

Romo is not special in that regard. He knows that......he has said that........so stop babying him.

And deserve has got nothing to do with anything. Romo said in his concession speech that the NFL is a meritocracy. So he gets it.

This blind reverence for the man has to end.

Great post!

There's no question that Romo is the better quarterback in terms of experience and getting the most out of this offense. The only questions I have with him is: 1. Will he/can he stay healthy and
2. Will he, in his efforts to make a play, turn the ball over down the stretch.

I don't have those questions with Dak, but I'm not certain Dak can keep up or outduel Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning, or/and Matt Ryan to get to the Super Bowl. That doesn't mean I think Romo should start. I just think everyone is going to have to be tuned in, the offense, the defense and the special teams in order to advance to the Super Bowl.

I'm glad we have a bye, but I hate I (we) have to wait two weeks until the Cowboys play again and wait to see how ready we are for the playoffs.
I agree, really a lot of questions are going to be answered in the playoffs.
one and done.......means what ?
win one and lose champ game.......means what ?
win 2 and lose SB.......means what ?
win 2 and win SB.......means what ? ........well means were ok, if dak is QB .

what if GB comes to dallas and wins 42-10.......means what ?
what if Giants come and beat us again
what if we win and then Atlanta beats us 42-20?

The season has been great, but in playoffs now is different and what we did in season, may or may not happen
in playoffs.
Playing both games in Dallas, helps immensely , and then the SB is just down the road.
So the situation for wins is ideal.
Dallas should cruise to a SB win, so if they dont where is the problem ??
If Dak struggles and we are behind 17-0 at half, do they start tony 2nd half? or just stick with Dak?

If I was HC I would not hesitate to go to Romo, if Dak isnt putting up points, because he is part of the team,
you can always start Dak again next game, but the key is this is ideal situation for Cowboys to win a SB.
You cant lose because your trying to be loyal or committed to a young QB, or a old QB.

I would plan on using both and doing whatever it took to win this year.

I think cowboys ....JG will stick with Dak unless hurt, and will lose one of the games.
That means it is all on Dak, if he can do it then great, but if he falters, then a golden opportunity is down the drain.

I think he is VERY capable of having a couple of more seasons like 2014 or better.
No doubt in my mind whatsoever.
He is more fit and overall stronger--arm and core strength--than then.
But I don't blame those who think otherwise
It's completely understandable.

Dallas is in great shape with Dak.
Should interesting to see where Romo goes..assuming he does go

the peyton manning-andrew luck parralel is strong.

denver would have been in the playoffs this year with romo. i will not be surprised if he ends up there in the offseason, and i'm keeping my eyes peeled for "peyton and romo schmoozing on the phone" stories.

Nothing personal intended. I'm confident your impressions are founded upon sound thinking. I do believe you know the story very well. :)

Nothing personal taken. I am not immune to nor offended when someone challenges my position. I'm open to correction and a good rebuttal as long as we remain civil. :)

Romo's the best QB on the team. It was bittersweet to watch him go out and make it look so effortless. If we play the Giants, IMO, we have a much better chance with #9 behind center. Dak has been great, but Minnesota and NY made him look like a rookie who couldn't convert a 3rd down to save his life. I'd hate to watch that again when we have a healthy Romo available. The downfield passing threat that Romo presents to a defense, combined with Zeke's running, would have this offense scoring 30+ points/game IMO. Hopefully, Dak plays like he did vs Detroit because that was his best outing. If Dak faces a tough D like NY's, I hope he uses his legs more because that's what he offers over Romo.
Best post in awhile...truth

Your "golden opportunity" assumes Romo can when the Superbowl. What if Dak failed to put up points and was down 17-0 and then came alive and Dallas won 21-17. And what if Romo was put in instead and lost the game with 2 interceptions? How stupid would your post sound then? See, its easy to "assume".

Romo is a great QB no doubt one thing that he does do that Dak hasn't so far is throw more INt's. Romo has thrown around 45 since 2012 (4 seasons). Some of those INT's hurt us some not so much or not at all, my point is DAk is more careful with the ball and that fits this offense right now keeps us moving with time consuming ball control giving our D lots of rest. It took Tony what 3 minutes To get a TD yesterday. I'm not bashing Tony at all I'm just saying I think Dak fits us right now and the mistakes are few and far between.

The guy threw 34 TD's and 9 Int's in 2014 behind this line with a competent running game - and about 5 of those int's were on balls the receiver popped up by mishandeling the catch. That's almost a 4:1 TD:Int ratio.

And yet people want to pretend Tony is some kind of turnover machine. It's about all they got left.

it is easy for witten, he is playing, and wanting to win a SB being an active player.
It is the one thing he wants most.
Tony will get a ring too, but not playing isnt the same as one you get as a starter.

http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/2...they-win-it-all-there-will-be-debate-about-qb

I thought this was an interesting take... I agree with what he says here:

• I have been pretty mute on this topic, at least in print, and there’s really no reason to break that trend. The week before last, I was watching practice and, my word, did Romo look unreal. Just making throws that only a handful of quarterbacks have ever made in my lifetime, dropping balls in spots where almost no one else would even throw. It is what it is, right? Sadly, and ridiculously unfairly, if the Cowboys don’t win the Super Bowl there are always going to be questions and debate about who should have been taking the snaps.

This is all confusing on so many levels. Dak Prescott deserves being in the discussion for NFL MVP, yet he’s not the best quarterback on his team. I’m sorry, he’s just not. Regardless of who you think deserves to start, I am guessing, I am hoping that everyone agrees on that. Look, Daniel Day-Lewis is the best actor of the last 30 years, right? That doesn’t mean if you give him Leonardo DiCaprio’s role in Titanic it’s a better movie.

As a Cowboy's fan I can't believe our great fortune at the qb position. We have had an amazing 10 years with an undrafted free agent and fell into a future franchise qb at the bottom of the 4th round. Most teams can't find one, let along two, let alone where we found them! I love Dak, and think he has a bright future, but I still fall into the camp that believes he isn't the best qb on this team. Does that mean he shouldn't be playing? I don't know, but watching Tony on that drive reminded me of how brilliant he can be.

I am not assuming anything, or saying romo is better, I am speculating .
I am saying for example dak could not beat the giants in 2 games, so if we face them, it might be better to play tony.
The game is about matchups, including qb's.
I think Dak might be better against NE than tony, and as for Atlanta and GB, it would depend on how our defense was playing.
I think against some teams Romo might do better , and other teams Dak might do better.

It is hard to say, but I dont think we should be rigid and stick with Dak no matter what.
It is possible he mounts a comeback, so it is hard to know what to do lol.
