he fumbled that punt, result 7 points.

he got owned by mike williams off the LOS result 7 points

newman was responsible for giving up 17 points today.

QB rating: 111.6

One 4th quarter drive to take the lead.

One 4th quarter drive to come up one yard short of tying.

If he makes that one extra yard, he is the hero of the game. But nooooo...he's the reason we lost. Some people are just plain ignorant.

Well, I thought he played alright, but he's got to get more consistency. The INT we got screwed on because Witten was illegally bumped, but he still shouldn't have thrown it into that type of coverage. The fumbles are something that he hasn't had an issue with until today, so I can look at them as a freak occurance.

But the O-Line has got to get better. We had no defense and virtually no running game. And to top it off, he didn't get a lot of time back there. And when he did get some decent time, he usually made very good decisions and throws.

He's definitely not the reason why we lost. You just don't win many games when you give up essentially 36 points on defense.

We cannot lose the fact that he is very inexperienced, and still looks as good as he does.

Does he have small hands, or does he need some of that old school Lester Hayes stickum? That fumble, first down in the end zone was a terrific play, but does show he is a bit aggressive.

well to be fair this is the 1st time he's ever had fumble issues. if it were a physicial thing we'd know by now.

I don't know that I agree with this. I don't know that I would call it a big problem right this minute but he does cough up the ball a little bit. In his first 4 games, he didn't fumble the ball at all. In his last 8 games, he's had 10 fumbles total. Today he had 5 so I don't know that I would call it a huge problem but I do think he has had some issue with this of late. He holds the ball out with one hand too often. Teams have picked up on this and now, they are making an excerted effort to tackle the football when he breaks contain. He needs to start putting both hands on the ball.

He had 4 and the first one wasn't even a fumble, if reviewed.

Was it? Could be right but either way, that's too many. If he just held both hands on the ball, two of those fumbles would never have happened. Wet ball, small hand, whatever it is. If you have two hands on the ball, those two fumbles (no contact) don't happen. That's the point I'm trying to get acrossed here.

Romo needs to protect the ball much better than he did today. Much better!

He was actually throwing and got tackled from behind. The ball went straight down into the ground and should have been incomplete. They called it a fumble, which we recovered for a two yard gain. No reason to review it.

No, he was actually pump facking on the play you are talking about. On the other, he was evading left and simply dropped the ball. Both were fumbles IMO.

No, the one I am talking about happened on the first offensive play of the game.

Sorry, my mistake. Can we say then that if he simply changes his habbit of breaking containment with the football in just one hand and adopts the good practice of holding the ball higher to his chest with both hands on the ball, he will probably help himself a great deal in this regard?

Romo, yet again, had no help what so ever. No running game (Romo was 11 yards behind Jones for team leader) a pathetic offensive line and a defense that just shows up and expects to get beat down. Romo is good enough, he just needs his teammates to earn what they are getting paid.

Should come with experience.

.

If this doesn't make a case for the idiocy of the QB rating system then I don't know what does. Romo fumbled 4 times, lost 2 and couldn't get the score with 4 chances from inside the 10 at the end of the game..and we lost...but look at that QB rating!
