1: "Dream On" - Aerosmith
2: "Freebird" - Lynard Skynard
3: "Stairway to Heaven" - Led Zepplin
4: "American Pie" - Don McClane
5: "Life in the Fast Lane" - The Eagles
6: "All Along the Watchtower" - Jimi Hendrix
7: "Like a Rolling Stone" - Bob Dylan
8: "Hotel California" - The Eagles
9: "Johnny B. Goode" - Chuck Berry
10: "Highway to Hell" - AC/DC
The list or creator? I agree either way, I'm not picky...superpunk said:Any rock and roll top 10 list, that does not include "Smells like Teen Spirit" should be shot.

If were talking Rock n Roll...
Free- "All Right Now"
Stones- "Satisfaction" "Brown Sugar" "Honky Tonk Woman" "Sympathy for the Devil" "Jumpin Jack Flash"
Chuck Berry- "Johnny B Goode"
Steppenwolf- "Born To Be Wild"
Beatles- "Come Together" "Twist and Shout"
Bruce- "Born To Run"
Cream- "Sunshine of Your Love"
Clapton- "Layla"
Elvis- "Jailhouse Rock"
Roy Orbison- Oh, Pretty Woman
Creedence- "Born on a Bayou" Proud Mary, Bad moon rising
Little Richard- "Long Tall Sally" "Good Golly Miss Molly"
Jerry Lee Lewis- "Great Balls of Fire" "Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On"
Jimi- "Purple Haze"
And for me, Led Z's "Whole Lotta Love" had a much greater impact on rock music than the aforementioned "Stairway to Heaven" It came out earlier...it was one of the first HEAVY acid rock songs.
Now, I realize these are all rather old...but I think they are songs that were quite influential...or just damn good.
I love the Eagles and some of the other songs mentioned here...but they just don't fit into "rock"...well, maybe Life in the Fast Lane...and Hotel California...two GREAT songs...do.
I'm sure I missed a bunch.
I so hate that I know both of those songs, ROFL.BrAinPaiNt said:Here is a few revolving around one band...or two.
Quiet Riot was originally started by the Famous Ozzy guitarist Randy Rhoades.
Quiet Riot was the first metal band to be Number 1 on the charts.
Two of Quiet Riots 3 biggest songs were actually cover songs from the band Slade....Mamma were all Crazy now and Cum on Feel the noize.

HeavyHitta31 said:And I agree, Pink Floyd's lyrics are some of the best ever. Them and Zepplin are probably the best lyrical rock bands I've ever heard.
Cobain loved them and the Breeders, both huge muscial influences with punk rock sounds. But Cobain wrote Smells Like Teen Spirit and performed in on his own and he himself gave life to a whole decade of music spawned almos tliterally around that song.abersonc said:Before you include Smells Like Teen Spirit, you should include the 5 or 6 Pixies songs that Cobain stole it from. Dude even admitted his theft.
