Top 3 most hated players?

What is your top 5 most hated players in the NFL and Why?

Top 3 or top 5?

I'll give you some and see how many I come up with.

#1 Terrell Owens - I can't stand this guy. He is such a worm (actually he reminds me a lot of Dennis Rodman, speaking of "Worm"). He talks so much trash and has the attitude that he so far superior to every other player, let alone other WRs, when in fact he is often a liability on the field with his dropped passes, poorly run routes, and lousy blocking which tends to lead to holding calls. He has led the NFL in dropped passes for 9 of his 11 seasons including this year. People tend to excuse him because he will break a tackle and turn a short pass into a long TD but how often has he done that for us so far? I'll tell you... ONCE! The guy is so unbelievably overrated it is sickening. Considering his physical abilities he SHOULD be a great WR but he is in the 2nd tier because of his stupidity and attitude. I hate his smarmy face and his "I'm actually a really good person" routine. The guy is a punk and a cancer and I hate that we brought him to Dallas.

#2 The Broncos O-Line - I hate these guys and I hate Shanahan for the way they play. I can't even begin to count the number of players whose seasons they have ended with their somehow "legal" chop/cut blocking technique. They dive at the guy's knees and somehow this is leagal? Stupid NFL... er Tags.

#3 Rodney Harrison - This is a guy who has somehow gotten past his reputation simply because he plays for the sainted Patriots but the reality is that he is still a cheap-shot artist who went out of his way to injure other players. Even if he hasn't injured anyone lately he is still a punk.

#4 Ray Lewis - Here is another guy who has somehow gotten past his reputation but I still can't stand him. His dancing and facial expressions tick me off and how he has been forgiven for his involvement in a murder is beyond me. The guy obstructed justice and protected a murderer (unless he did it). I can understand covering for a friend to a degree but not when the guy has killed someone.

That's good enough for now.

OK, after reading through the thread I have some to add that I had forgotten (I try to forget them if possible):

Leonard Little for obvious reasons

Jeremy Shockey - too much mouth and not enough production. Similar to Owens in that he SHOULD be as great as he thinks he is but he is too busy thinking about the next stupid thing to say and forgets to concentrate on catching the football.

Here are a couple of guys I don't particularly dislike personally but hate them because of the hype that surrounds them (stupid ESPN!):

Brett Favre
Michael Vick
Ben Roethlisberger

1. Brett Favre- he is being selfish and holding his team hostage. He was done 2 years ago yet he refuses to retire because Brett is just having too much fun so the Packers must suffer at his expense until Brett feels satisfied he has played enough. He also selfishly called out his former teammate and receiver (w/ Broncos now) to not hold out yet Brett will do whatever it takes to make his needs are met.

2. Ray Lewis- This guy is a phony! I remember his 10 minute sanctimonious tirade in response to TO's mocking him when the Eagles beat the Ravens. He had the nerve to call out TO and preach to him about being about the team and not trying to show off, when Ray is a regular offender of this principal. Ray was just embarrassed that TO humiliated him on national television. He also covered up a murder and is now trying the gospel/preacher route. Pathetic

3. Eli Manning- His refusal to play for the Chargers defies the very principles of the league. What if every player just refused to play for the bad teams in the league. Then none of the doormats would have a chance of improving. The NFL needs to put a ban to this concept. It upset me when Elway did it and bothers me that Eli did it. Be a man like Matt Leinart and play for the team that picked you even if they are the Cardinals or Lions.

Jeremy Shockey
Eli Manning
Ray Lewis
Randy Moss
Daniel Snyder
Shawne Merriman
Warren Sapp
I also have to agree with the Broncos O-line
I still have to put T.O. on this list.

Past Players
Bill Romanowski
Joe Theisman I CANT STAND HIM!
Shannon Sharpe

I have no real reason to hate them other than their recent dominance & fans:
New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles.

Really, that comment just makes me want to laugh. So, I guess after the first injury (wasn't it to Calico in the pre-season?) if a WR got past him Roy was just supposed to pull up and let them go? At the speed of the NFL game I highly doubt he had the time to think about the best tackling technique to prevent injury. The only thought that probably went through his brain was to prevent the TD. Is it unfortunate and freakishly weird that four people got injured by Roy on that particular type of tackle? Yes. But to imply that Roy didn't feel bad about it or worse, that he did it on purpose is crazy.

Your comment makes me want to laugh, actually.

Is it unfortunate and freakishly weird that four people got injured by Roy on that particular type of tackle?

No, it's not freakishy weird.

The tackle was outlawed because, due to the position it brings down the body of the player getting tackled, he will often fall upon one (or sometimes both) legs under his body, quite often completely tearing one or both of the player's anterior cruciate ligaments (the other knee ligaments are often at great risk as well).

Move along, boy.

1. Joey Porter- Classless, dirty piece of trash, plays for the Stealers.
2. All the Commanders.
3. The rest of the Stealers.

This is an absurd quote. Personally, I think anyone that brings color into this type of equation is shallow and narrow minded. Obviously, you feel this way and fit perfectly into that group.

oh ya I am the narrow minded one cause I understand how people with shared heritage can feel pride for each other when they accomplish things in life. Boy oh boy look how narrow minded I am. God you sure opened my eyes.

Move along, boy.
bet you want the offensive players to wear skirts too

Donovan McNabb...for being a coward and a phony.

Jeremiah Trotter, for being a dirty player and horsecollaring Julius Jones last year, injuring him with a sprain that was never right all year.

And Shockey, Plax, and Tiki.

I suspect you haven't heard LJ's comments, it was more than just talking about sharing a heritage. You might want to try to find them and listen for yourself.

if you look back at those, two of those injuries were the runner's fault.
People have been doing that for years and there was never a problem until a Cowboy did it and a star player got injured.
If you can't horsecollar, then runner's should not be allowed to stiff-arm, its only a fair trade (not to mention the reason Musa got injured).
I guess the horsecollar is much more brutal and "dirty" than the pick up and body-slam technique Dawkins has used or the spit in your face technique Sean Taylor has used.

If the Cowboys OL ever did the cut-blocking that Denver does, there would be an emergency meeting and it would outlawed before the season is over.

my response was to being called shallow and narrow minded for saying that most black athletes would probably like to have a black head coach. It was not in direct relation to lj's comments.

Uh actually, they resulted in broken bones. Not torn ACL's. Just ask T.O. or Musa Smith.... BTW this is a contact sport. A violent sport. People get hurt all the time... Just because it ruined your season doesn't make it any different.

Here is my top three hated around the league. Not really my most hated.

1. TO - The drama
2. Randy Moss - Quits on his team.
3. Jeremy Shockey - Attitude

What does heritage have to do with the color of a coaches skin that you play for?

Shallow and narrow minded. CHECK.

Racism is a product of shallow and narrow minded people. To say, you would rather play for a black coach because of heritage is just masking a racial statement. I would rather play for the best coach and not make the decision based on race, creed, color, national origin, sex, political affiliation, or beliefs.

By the way, I'm in tune with my hertiage too. Powerful feelings about heritage are emotional feelings. Most of the time I do not allow emotion to control my thought process. Logic is the key to success. Emotion is the key to be Plaxico Burress, Terrell Owens, Antonio Bryant, Tiki Barber, and Michael Strahan just two days ago.

Here is mine:

1. LArry Johnson- I think this guy is a total Tool and His personality is fake!. That fake smirk when Vermeil hugged him and patted him on the back is clear on my mind. Also Why is he pulling the Race card? He said He thinks he performs better under a black Coach because they understand young black Athletes better?..What a Tool!.

2. Plaxico Burres- THis guy is a complete Joke to the NFL. He takes his talent for granted and He acts like He's all that. He's the softest WR in the League PERIOD. He Gives up on plays, He gets tackled by air( Remember Arron Glenn?) and He gives up on plays( Did I say that already?)..Again I cant stress this enough, He's a joke.

3. SHawn Merrimen- Mr. Roids is a Cheater!...I hate CHeaters, But I hate Cocky arrogant cheaters even more. Not to mention He thinks He's better than LT..." I'm faster, Stronger and better" Yea right MErrimen, You're a joke to the NFL you Cheater!.

OK, OK, loyal listeners and groupies, Smith is not an athlete (though he wants to be)

But I have to make an exception for the boisterous, bombastic and butt-headed Stephen A. Smith. He puts race into every broadcast of his silly show.

So silly and racist is this show I have to watch it. It is like a nightly train wreck of race baiting and anglo bashing. The the stupid audience applauds as if he is god's gift to sportscasting. (Think the Oprah audience but with mustaches and sportwear.)

This guy is sick.

Moss and Strahan speak for themselves.:laugh2:

So maybe the poster didn't know you didn't have any context because you hadn't heard the statement and they had heard them. Regardless, if a white player said the same thing (that they would rather play for a white coach), they would be called shallow and narrow minded or most probably a racist.

Lets just skip arguing with him. He is who he is and he won't change.

I really do not hate any players. Some I like more than others.

I will say that Ray Lewis and Leonard Little IMO have no business being in the NFL.

The only thing I really truly dislike in the NFL are the Washington Commanders and Philly fans.

I hate the Commanders well because well they are Commanders.

I hate most Philly fans because well they are classless. Just ask Michael Irvin.

I forgot about that little rascal. Murder rap, right?
Yes, he has no business in the NFL. Or among the nonprison population.
Wish I had him on my list instead of Strahan.
