Witten and Austin play different positions.... that's like apples to oranges. They face different defenders and different coverages. If anything Roy has single coverage and Austin has double and still has better numbers. And as far as Roy Williams is concerned, we've all seen Romo hit him between the numbers in the hands and he's dropped them (don't need a stat for that, just game film).

Austin has it easy all he does is tippy toe down the field, not only does Jason Whitten have to block, he also normally is up against Linebackers who carry much more pop than the noodly corner backs Austin is against, and WItten STILL has better stats. And as far as Roy is concerned have you ever noticed that whenever there is a blue moon and Romo hits Roy on the numbers the ball is rifled? Nobody could catch that. Roy is lucky Romo has not cracked his sternum...which btw, it would not surprise me if that is what Romo is going for.

Honestly if it was that I would consider it as well cause that would result in us having 3 1st rounders in 2010 and 2 1st rounders in 2011 (making him worth more than Cutler). The flaw is that SF has Crabtree already so they have no need for a WR.

But this blows a hole in the reason stated that we would be trading Austin in the first place. The radio guy said that Jerry couldnt pay Austin $10 mill a year due to the fact we are already paying Roy that much.


However, 3 first round picks (2 relatively high) are going to cost more than $10 mill a year to sign. So letting Austin walk in order to get multiple first rounders is totally dumb if the motive is to reduce payroll because those 3 first rounders are going to be paid more collectively than Austin would make by himself.

Lol you crack me up.... I'm talking about WRs, Jason Witten is IMO our number 1 receiver, but Austin is our #1 WR. Roy Williams is our #3 WR and our #4 receiver. And I don't understand the whole cracked sternum thing.... and ball rifled in there, doesn't matter you still supposed to catch a ball that hits you in the gut and also hits your two gorilla sized mitts in the palms.

I have yet to see Austin throw blocks like Roy, say what you want about Roy but he is a team player. Even AFTER Romo acts like a baby and scowls at him after every single play trying to make it seem as if its Roy's fault. All Austin does is run down the field fast, he does not throw blocks he does not fight to get open, if he gets open he is open if not, well maybe he will next play.
