I can see this getting more and more ugly as time goes on. Unhappy Dez and perhaps an uphappy Dez where it affects his play on the field and also the locker room environment. If any of the top tier teams in say the first 5 picks were willing to trade their number 1 and say number 2 for Dez, would you take it? Take one of the top two receivers (WV or Alabama kid) and then use the number 2 pick as needed for other needs. Anyone in??

Ughhhh we aren't the Eagles....

No team in their right mind would give up a top 5 first and second round pick for Dez. The numbers don't make sense financially to do it. They would have to then pay Dez around 30 million up front, when they could take a top WR in the draft with a much friendlier contract, plus still get another player with their second pick. Etc. no way this would happen.

So trade your stud WR for a first rounder which you will use to draft a WR who may or probably not will be as good as Dez?
If you want an additional pick, just trade down in the first. Dez should stay a Cowboy.

Agree with everyone. I'll go back in my hole now. :)

PS. I'm just not sure Jerry and company are all in with giving Dez Calvin Johnson type money and therefore looking for a plan B.

Let me add to this. What if the relationship between Valley Ranch and Dez is poison? Think about it folks. For those that say this is funny lets hear your solution to this problem. Remember, if Dez has been signed earlier then we could have used the franchise tag on Murray. Also, you folks are forgetting that some of these young wide receivers tore up the league last year. You telling me you wouldn't take the kid in New York and a number 2 (high round pick) for Dez right now?

Would I trade Dez for ODB and a second-rounder? Sure. And since every first-round pick turns out to be as good as Beckham...

well, you know, the OP has it all figured out. you see we can replace him with "that kid" and everything is all right. doesn't matter it took dez a few years of general fandom dogging on him before he could turn things around. you see, such talent is replaceable with greatness also known as "that kid".

so while the OP is whining people don't offer solutions to issues, he's out there replacing Dez with "that kid".

I don't know how the rest of the world missed it.

I would let him go for (2) 1st rounders and a 2nd rounder, but only if his contract negotiations went crazy high.

Dez will be making over a million a month this year. There won't be any poison.
Besides when he steps on the field he can't help but give his all. He likes winning to much.
