Trade Dez?

Imagine what the Cowboys offense would look like without Murray AND Dez. Some just can't wait to get rid of the teams best players to save money. The Cowboys finally get over the 8-8 hurdle with a 12-4 season and many want to tear the team apart to save money.

I don't believe that's been the best offer and I certainly have more trust in the Cowboys being fair than I do a mental midget like Dez.

That's the best offer that's been reported. D Thomas was franchised it takes a lot of money to sign an elite WR.

I understand what's been reported. It doesn't sway me at all. Reports are incomplete at best and not accurate at worst.

Practically everyone has reported the Cowboys don't trust Dez off the field. Norm Hitzges asked Jerry if he trusted Dez and Jerry said he has to know he can trust Dez with a lot of money. He said he visits with Dez everyday which points to him having concerns about him. It's been "reported" the police have been called several times to Dez's house and that a manager is with him at all times. Dez has had to undergo anger management unless you don't believe anything that's being reported.

I can see this getting more and more ugly as time goes on. Unhappy Dez and perhaps an uphappy Dez where it affects his play on the field and also the locker room environment. If any of the top tier teams in say the first 5 picks were willing to trade their number 1 and say number 2 for Dez, would you take it? Take one of the top two receivers (WV or Alabama kid) and then use the number 2 pick as needed for other needs. Anyone in??

Nothing wrong with "what if" posts but Dez loves it here and Jerry is the "old Jerry" when it comes to Dez. Now, if Dez and Garrett somehow get into a skirmish on the sidelines then Garrett might be gone...

First off I didn't want to lose Murray but let's just say for the sake of discussion Dez asks to be traded. I'd want 2 #1's and a second. Furthermore You might as well shop Romo because without Dez or Megatron, nobody is going to catch those "Zipcode Passes" very often, nor will they be attempted anymore so u are basically starting over at that point...

That's crazy. OBJ is making 2.6 mill a year. He is already a star after his first year. You'd free up 10mill dollars this year and be set for the next 3 years. Use our first this year on a guy like Strong. Plus an additional second.

Give me that trade any day of the week.

Dez is proven, ODB isn't. So what he had a good rookie year, doesn't mean he will produce every year the rest of his career.

Look at RG3 for example hasn't looked good since rookie year. Victor Cruz is another one that really hasn't done the same as his rookie year

I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. Dez is eventually going to have a cap-crippling contract based on the results of every other big contract that's gone to WRs in the league.

Trade away are pro bowl receiver and let our running back walkin the same season? We are not the Eagles sunshine.

Ok, everybody sober up, no one and I mean no one is going to trade DEZ. Dez is the best player on the team, and is one of the 2 best WR in all the NFL. DEZ is a talent you don't replace. DEZ is the kind of player who can win games and commands respect from the other team you are playing. Dez is the type of player that only comes around every 10 years . Dez is the man, so pay him and lock him up for the next 7 years.

A top five 1st and 2nd ? Most likely he is gone. The only thing is this, if you trade him you will put a huge hole in your wr core. Yeah those other guys in the draft seem good but they are not proven as Dez is. You will loose a lot of experience and a true #1 wr. I can see that top 5 pick doing wonders for this team. Especially if we can trade it down for multiple picks.

Nah I'm sure T-Will can carry the load with his body catches.

I'm in. Let's do it. Then we can trade Romo next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No way lets trade him now. So many guys in the draft that can carry us.

Imagine how scared defenses will be to see Twill, Beasley and some rook.

I think you are asking for more then what is required. Anyone can sign Dez to a offer sheet right now and the compensation to the Cowboys would be their two numbers 1's unless I'm missing something. We could of course have the right to match that offer. That's all you get when you franchise a player as far as I know.

No my point is that he's worth that much to us for our application..

Let me get out of the way of the rush for teams to do this lest I get caught in the oncoming stampede...

You profit nothing by trading Dez. Not even for a teams entire draft for a whole year. Even if they have a top 5 pick.

How many of those picks do you have to throw at WR to replace the production that Dez offers?
