He only had six catches and as a returner he wasn’t consistent. With the Cowboys trading for Austin you knew someone would be sent packing. Austin will be used like Lance Dunbar as an RB and returner.
I knew someone would be sent packing...just not sure if it should've been Switzer. Always hated that pick. Not the player just the pick. No reason to have Beasley 2.0.

I'm a UNC guy and really like Switzer, but I get it.
We had 8 WRs with value to us
Going to have to cut or trade at least 2, so Switz was odd man out.
Oakland is really loaded at WR but need a slot guy like this.

Marinelli was really high on Ward before the 2016 draft.

I’m sorry but please clarify as I got to ask this because I see statements like this posted a lot. People saying we where high on someone. Garrett loved this person and Marinelli really like so and so.

Where do people get this from. No one in any organization will say I really like this person before the draft. No one is going to tip their hand. And no one ever says oh we didn’t get that guy but we really wanted him. Other then obviously great players which we can assume everybody loves and wants.

So the question is how do you know Marinelli was high on him? He wasn’t listed as a predraft visit and I don’t see where Marinelli attended his pro day. I’m just curious.

Switzer didn’t show much as a receiver and other than one good return he didn’t do much as a returner. He was taking too many chances on returns from deep in the end zone, not even getting to the 20 yard line.

I knew he’d regret that fumble before half against the Rams.

Apparently we decided we were better keeping our current Cole Beasley.

Yeah, his contract runs out after this year though, while Switzer was signed for the next 3. I figured we could get two years starting out of him.

Well Switz would've been good if he had speed.

I never saw any real speed from him at all.

I never really got where Switzer was considered automatically better than Beasley.

If he was so demonstrably better, he'd have worked his way into some games as anything but a high risk, low reward kick returner.

I'd bet the Dallas coaching staff had serious questions about his decision making ability and coachability.

Not surprised. We have 3 new WR on the roster and had a huge glut. Switzer basically played the same role as Beasley when he was in the huddle. Austin will pick up his return duties.

Amazing what happens to a Unit on the team when their coach leaves and no one is standing on the table for them

Supposedly Switzer was always at the star and working hard with Dak.

Seems like just a matter of time he get a serious concussion or broken neck.
that and he made me nervous that double clutch of the ball when it hit his chest it would bounce into his hands a lot..that would have led to more muffs and fumbles..it happened on A LOT of the punt and Kos..

I feel like one of these new WR's is going to be doing punt and KO returns.
