There has been a bit of hand wringing around here about having two kickers taking up roster spots and deservedly so. That got me to thinking.

Lets say Beuhler shows up large and preseason and shows that he can consistently hit FGs within the 40 in addition to the powerful leg he already has on display, what do you think of the idea of trading Folk?

Folk is already oneof the better FG in the NFL and a proven commodity so I imagine that good value could be had but I wanted a gauge of what you guys thought about the idea of trading him and what we could get for him.

What do you consider good value? I don't think they would get that much in return. If they do want to trade him for something I figure they wait until next off season.

Buehler would need to hit two overtime, game-winning field goals on monday night television before I'd trust him over Folk.

No need to do it now, you still have no idea how Buehler will look under pressure. You can trade Folk next year, or later in the season although you won't get anything higher than a 4th imo.

I really have no idea. He is a probowl kicker so it stands to reason he would be worth something. First thing that comes to mind is depth along the OL, Lets say a team offers a 4th? I really have no idea.

I would keep Folk he has shown he can handle the big kicks in pressure situations that you will not get in the Pre-season. For me it would take more than 1 pre-season to let go of Folk

With Folk coming off of an injury, this would be tough. A year ago, we may have been able to get a 6th (or even a 5th) for him he was so good.

I agree with the idea--though it is a big if that Buehler would be a consistantly accurate kicker, as they are hard to find. Odds are very slim that the new kid is as good as Folk.

wow we finally find a reliable clutch kicker and now we want to get rid of him?

Got to be kidding me...

This.

I'd rather have a reliable FG kicker than a consistent touchback specialist. But I don't see the need to get rid of either one. Just take two kickers.

Its amazing how quickly people have jumped on Buehlers man parts, and are ready to annoint him and get rid of a truly good clutch kicker.

by drafting another kicker in three years in Buehler, only solidifies what I said on Draft day, Dallas made a huge mistake passing on Mason Crosby for Folk. Now we're stuck with taking two kickers on gameday. Beuhler isn't an accurate kicker, he'll never take that job away from Folk, he's here for kickoffs only..

Funny that Dallas drafts kickers higher than receivers, something is seriously wrong with that kind of football logic..... oh that's right, look who we have as a GM..that explains it all

Folk > Crosby in FG kicking
Crosby > Folk in kickoffs

FG kicking > kickoffs

What round did we draft Buehler in? Exactly.

No one is giving us a prime pick or good player for a kicker. Teams know that there are already decent kickers out of work.

The 53rd spot on the roster isn't so valuable that we can't keep 2 kickers. Most guys at the bottom of the rosters are marginal, even on good teams. The rosters spot is a non-issue.

If they're 2 good players, you keep them. And we already know Folk is, so the only question is whether or not Buehler is consistent enough to keep.

Drafted in the fifth round (172nd overall) by Dallas.

FuzzyLumpkins was a much cooler name than Fuzzbuster, imo.

considering the amount of clutch players we have (which isnt many)....id prefer to keep him
