Thix x2. What Folk did in Buffalo to this day boggles my mind. Imagine the adrenaline rush and excitement of nailing a huge kick like that only to have to line up and do it AGAIN??? In the face of a hostile crowd and a national audience?

No sir. Folk stays until he proves that he CAN'T do the job.

Folk was at about 92% last year. I understand that he is damn good. What I don't like is having two kickers on the roster. My point was more of a question that asks at what point can we get rid of one or the other.

If Beuhler can show that he will hit 90% of his FG is taht enough to justify trading Folk. What about 85%.

I just don't see Folk adding an additional 10 yards to his KO. Thats why I singled him out but I would be happy to see him do that and get rid of Beuhler. I really don't like wasting a roster spot on a kicker.
Why don't you like the idea of taking two kickers? The only harm is losing a player that's devoted solely to special teams. If Buehler can have more of an impact on special teams than the player he's replacing, what's the harm?

The problem with this scenario is that it is about as unlikely as the Cowboys bringing me in as Romo's backup, it isn't going to happen. The best Buehler has ever done in a season is 84.2% on his FGs.

I like having him on the team as it gives us a guy that could step in if needed but I wouldn't look to replace Folk anytime soon regardless of how good Buehler is this season.

I am not worried about the 53rd guy on the roster or the 45th guy we take to a game. If Buehler is the athlete he's supposed to be then he can fill that STs role as well as being the kickoff specialist and backup to Folk.

Agreed. After all the problems we went through with the kicking game we finally have a kicker I feel good about every time he lines up to take a kick. IN fact, between Mcbriar and Folk we might have the best kicker-punter duo in the League. This new fella may have the leg of God but I became a believer in folk that night in Buffalo and he hasn't given me any reason since then to doubt him.

Nobody in their right mind was going to draft this kid to be their conventional, full-time kicker, yet somehow we're supposed to make that leap. Fail.

The average NFL kicker had about 35 attempts last year or 2 a game. To make up that 6% and be top 10 in the league you are talking about 2 kicks. Its not as if we're talking about a million miles away when it comes to getting him up there.

Becuase it reduces roster flexibility because in essence we have two half kickers.

Parcells talked about this and ultimately went with Vanderjagt a couple of years ago. You might have to choose between taking a guy that could help on our dime coverages like Hamlin or a ST guy like Hodge. We might have to be choosing between Free and McQuistan on game day.

We are going to have to expose guys like Dixon, Mickens, Ogletree, Stanback, or Rogers to waivers. We have a talented roster and guys like that are going to be picked up.

In an ideal world. Beuhler improves his accuracy or Folk improves his distance. Really there is no argument about it.

I agree with this. What happened to the fan club list? lol

Due to popular demand I changed it back.

I actually changed the fan list a while back because it was making certain people very unhappy and people were trolling me to get on.

Since then I guess I have just been getting along with people better.
