Waters is the best offensive lineman on this team right now, and it's not even close.

Were you planning to back up that wildly inaccurate claim with an argument? Because I don't know how you can rank him over Fred or Free.

Perhaps he is, considering his age and performance thus far. Flozell Adams has still been the best lineman since Larry Allen overall but it took some years before Flozell got it going in his career.

Watching Frederick move 3 grown men like he was pushing a grocery cart in the produce aisle made me curious as to how strong he actually is.

Read that he has a 770 pound squat.

Not to devalue Beard's squat but Larry Allen benches almost that much.

ARLINGTON — At Joseph Randle’s locker, where he was surrounded by reporters, a football was tucked in his stall. It was a little memento from the first touchdown he scored in the first same game he got his first NFL carry.

“That’s the rock, right there,” he said. “I’ve got to keep that one.”

Of course, Randle’s 1-yard dive into the end zone during the fourth quarter of Dallas’ 31-16 victory didn’t come without assistance. Randle, while in a crowd of Commanders defenders, was pushed across the goal line by rookie center Travis Frederick. As a way of acknowledging Frederick’s contribution, Randle asked Frederick to autograph the football that is now his souvenir.

“I told Travis to sign it for me,” said Randle, who finished with 17 yards on 11 carries. “But he was like, ‘Nah, I can’t do that. I can’t sign your ball.’”

How is he able to outmuscle guys who have been lifting longer and more experience in the NFL?

Some guys are just naturally stronger then other guys. That's god given and nothing you can do about that. Fredbeard looks like he is one of those guys. Also, keep in mind that he played at Wisconsin. That is a school that has an NFL caliber weight training program, year in and year out.

What is amazing is that the longer Fredbeard is in a pro training regiment, the stronger he will get. Makes a little smile run across my face.

Frederick only had 21 reps at 225 at the combine...

I love this thread! People are arguing who are best linemen is. Its so much better than arguing who are worst is. Seems like Oline is a strength now. Compared to years past where we had a crappy line for so long.

Higher reps will generally show more muscualr endurance, heavier weights for single reps are the better measure for power. However, i dont know anything about his max bench press numbers

But in a real game, he gets to use his whole body, which is pretty dang stout!

Besides the regression of the Skins offense/defenses figuring it out perhaps...the 2nd biggest factor yesterday was the improvement of the Cowboys interior line...as much as I hate to admit it.

3 TDs for Cowboys when inside the 20...versus 3 FG for the Commanders...interior line is a huge factor in that.

Doesn't mean anything. It's hard for tall OLs to extend their arms. Fredbeard is like 6'4" with 33 inch arms. The number of reps is not always indicative of strength in OLs. Also, natural strength is not always bench strength. That's why it's exciting for me to think that he is only going to get stronger with an NFL training program.

Joe Thomas did a low amount of bench press reps. Frederick claimed the low reps was due to how they train at Wisconsin, where it's more about weight than reps. Thomas is one of the best LT's in the game, so I think it's a Wisconsin thing more than anything else.

Would not be surprised Rich. I mean, it's not as if Wisconsin doesn't put out their fair share of NFL OLs each year and darn few come out and are mistaken for little sisters of the poor. Anderson, Ludwig, Woods and Simon all understand what's up when it comes to training and producing NFL quality OLs. They kinda got it figured out.
