Of all the good arguments you could have used this is what proves the point?Dude wasn’t even a top 10 CB on Madden.

Better be careful before he Account Bets you.Of all the good arguments you could have used this is what proves the point?
To each his own.The guy is an elite cornerback. He’s improving every single season. He plays a premium position. He’s 24. To say it’s dumb not to pay him would be putting it nicely.
Why do I feel like if Dallas didn’t re sign Diggs, instead letting him go in FA… this guy would be telling us how great of a player Trevon is. (Not you hot rocks… the guy that you quoted in your post). So you you going by a top 10 madden list lmao
Nah. He would be saying we couldn't sign him because of Dak because that guy is all-consuming in his brain. Why do I feel like if Dallas didn’t re sign Diggs, instead letting him go in FA… this guy would be telling us how great of a player Trevon is.
Backloading isn't what is used to be. Players smartened up really quick after DeAngelo Hall signed a massive contract with the Raiders, was cut halfway through the season, and walked away with about 10% of overall contract total. Don't expect 3 years of discounted pay on a 5 year deal. That's not how it works anymore. You might get 1, which means Dallas sort of gets 2 in this situation because I can't imagine it's not years added.Wow 5 years? Will allow them to backload it a ton. Good news for 2023-2025
But definitely surprised he was priority over CeeDee, Dak, or Zach
One year? Diggs has been better and better in coverage since his rookie season. His picks were down from 11 to 3 in 2022 but he actually graded out higher. If you have one good year, you're halfway to 100 mil in Jerry's eyes. Prove to the world on the biggest stage that you will actively run away from oncoming players....and you're paid.
The phantom tackle of Kittles and the space cadet dropped INT were huge plays in the biggest game of his career. Plus a dozen or so non tackles. It was an embarrassing performance. Stop being such a homer. You clearly have no idea what you are watching
The picks weren't "gifted". A guy doesn't pick off eleven passes by chance. Diggs' anticipation and ball tracking skills are elite. Picks went down in 2022 because QB's stopped testing him. And his coverage grade actually improved significantly.OVERPAY
he was getting scorched in '21 (when he wasn't being gifted insane INTs by the football g*ds)...without those INTs in '21 it's a whole different narrative.
Of course in the past year the INTs returned down to typical numbers. Diggs SEEMED to be less prone to getting smoked by WRs in '22, however that was so much being due to playing drastically more 2 high safeties. ANY corner is gonna look better when you put the training wheels on and play 2 high.
Nothing wrong being a CB who needs to play in a 2 deep safety scheme,....but sheesh you don't pay him 100Mil.
So the guy has one bad game and it erases three years worth of progress? The phantom tackle of Kittles and the space cadet dropped INT were huge plays in the biggest game of his career. Plus a dozen or so non tackles. It was an embarrassing performance. Stop being such a homer.
I didn't mean it to sound like he didn't do his part and take advantage of opportunities.....I just meant even the most elite CBs just don't routinely have those type of #s. He just was presented more opportunities than any CB in the last 20 years has. A fluke. His INT #s will likely linger around 3 or 4 the rest of his career....it's just typical even for great cbs.The picks weren't "gifted". A guy doesn't pick off eleven passes by chance. Diggs' anticipation and ball tracking skills are elite. Picks went down in 2022 because QB's stopped testing him. And his coverage grade actually improved significantly.
One has nothing to do w the otherTo each his own.
Personally, I like Diggs and am glad he is playing for the Cowboys.
And, it is anything but dumb to question the Cowboys contract negotiations. There is ample evidence to suggest they are not exactly leaders of the pack when it comes to contracts.
