If Mazi is a star and LBs play well, with our pass rush we should be or could be a shut down Defense. Our new Offensive scheme is a big deal for us. We need that O-Line to step up and be solidified. And RBs need to be on point. Dak needs to take what’s there, run first and play action.

he was getting scorched in '21 (when he wasn't being gifted insane INTs by the football g*ds)...without those INTs in '21 it's a whole different narrative.

Of course in the past year the INTs returned down to typical numbers. Diggs SEEMED to be less prone to getting smoked by WRs in '22, however that was so much being due to playing drastically more 2 high safeties. ANY corner is gonna look better when you put the training wheels on and play 2 high.

Nothing wrong being a CB who needs to play in a 2 deep safety scheme,....but sheesh you don't pay him 100Mil.

He was getting torched so much in 21 that OCs stopped throwing at him in 22.

Backloading isn't what is used to be. Players smartened up really quick after DeAngelo Hall signed a massive contract with the Raiders, was cut halfway through the season, and walked away with about 10% of overall contract total. Don't expect 3 years of discounted pay on a 5 year deal. That's not how it works anymore. You might get 1, which means Dallas sort of gets 2 in this situation because I can't imagine it's not years added.

Was a big game. Every player on every play is in the spotlight. Someone makes a big play and everyone involved is looked at. You miss or make a poor effort and it’s gonna show.

Diggs's deal looks very similar to Denzel Ward's, who I'd say is a very fair comp as a young top 10'ish CB. But he's actually a little cheaper. We did well here.

Also, I don't think fans realize just how volatile CBs are as a position. We see dudes go to new teams and flop all the time. We see guys play like studs one year and regress the next.

If you have a corner put back to back good seasons on your defense, you want to keep that guy around.

He's decent but it's an overpay.

People keep banging on about him not hitting Kittle...there's no guarantee he stops the first down even if he takes his head off. Over the years enough tight ends have been able to take the hit from a corner and finish the play. Probably Prescott fans trying to deflect from his clown show.

If he puts a legitimate hit on Kittle, he likely doesn't make the catch. Diggs wanted to avoid contact.

If Diggs isn't going to put it all on the line in a close playoff game, he's never going to.

It was inevitable. With Gilmore being a rental there is 0 chance we go into next year without atleast 1 lockdown corner on the team. We might get another year out Gilmore but he wasn’t the long term answer so signed TD was a must.
