Are you questioing admin?

So tell me all the lies then. You wont do that either.

Im being polite and civil here. Like bob asked us to do many times...including couchcoach memorial.

YOu are throwing rude accusations....im simply asking for examples.
I was surprised to learn from another member that the
angry clown that is constantly berating anyone who doesn't profess blind love for Dak Prescott is a man in his sixties. Sixties? Talking like that?

I had joked that he was possibly a 13 year old mean girl.
He's just a very rude, angry, hateful human being.
Probably terrified in the real world. Most bullies are.

Future possibilities:

After losing to SF 4 times in 3 years, including 3 playoff defeats, Dallas parts ways with Tad's brother.
Young Trey Lance steps into the frey as the new QB and
leads Dallas to an NFC East title. Then promptly defeats
SF in the playoffs.

The heads that would explode if this scenario were to play out... glorious....lol

Kudos to @DuncanIso for sticking with it.

Ah...if there's anything that might be worse than a spoiled rotten child, it'd be a miserable old man. :)

I can think of one reason why he shouldn't. The 49ers traded him for a 5th round pick. The 49ers.

Do they have a history of poorly evaluating quarterbacks?
Considering what they gave up to draft Lance in the first place, I’d say they do….in one regard.

It would be a much bigger thing if the Purdy miracle didn’t happen. I’m sure they see it as a wash.

Otherwise they have a great staff that I’m quite frankly jealous of. I recall being out there in 2017 when we absolutely smashed them, there was little hope from the fans I spoke with, and since…..

Jerry is still tripping over himself trying to get over the hump. I wonder if he will live long enough for SF to completely lap him on yet another rebuild.

I seriously doubt it. I bet you worship that old fart. He continues to get it wrong with them trades and overpays.
Nope, Jerry has made plenty of mistakes, and if Lance proves to be one as well at least it cost nearly nothing.
I'm not buying the argument that even Mr. Irrelevant Back Up Sam Darnold beat him out.
SF was between a rock and a hard place, and they chose Purdy, and they chose Darnold to be the easy QB2 because the guy has no issue never starting in this league.
Lance is in a position that IF he develops, there is a chance that he can eventually replace Dak when the time comes.
Good place for Lance, and SF is happy to have zero QB controversy.

2023 is about Dak.

There are $61 million reasons why Dak is a June cut next March. [hes UFA after 2024.]

Lance 2024.

Of course, Jerry could always extend Dak. And pay another 160 million.
And Dak is making $$$ to lose in playoff games.

This thing is gonna end soon with Dak.

There is a reason they went after Lance.
They are not going to replace Rush as 2nd QB. Dallas has much respect for Cooper.

IMHO, take a look at the cap for 2024.

Dak isn't going to get paid 60+ mill.

That's why Lance is here.
Plus, Dak is likely a June cut.

They can split that 60 mill cap hit.

too many players need paid.

And Lance is cheap.
I just look at the cap.

The 2024 cap is -$11 million.

Dak has a $59.x million hit.

Lance has a $5 million hit.

That’s why they made the trade.

Why spend more $$$ on Dak when you have his replacement already?
I can think of $61 million reasons why he plays QB1 in 2024.
I just look at the cap numbers for 2024.

If they pay Dak, we are negative 11 million.

So who do we cut?

Or play the kid…who is a phenom.
I think that's a good Best Case scenario.

The problem is the cap.

You can look at Dak's contract on SpoTrac and see the problem:

POTENTIAL OUT: 2024, 3 YR, $126,000,000; $61,915,000 DEAD CAP

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/dak-prescott-19089/

That tells me that Dak is in jeopardy of being a June cut for 2024.

Then take a look at the 2024 cap. We are negative $11 million.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/cap/2024/

Something is going to give.

Then they trade for Lance.
I dont think there is any doubt the kid can play QB in the NFL. Youtube has a video of his QB work with the 49ers. Its impressive.

As they say, he "checks all the boxes."

We are lucky he had the two freak injuries.

Otherwise, we'd never make that trade.
They can always tag him.

Also, I don't think they use the 5th year option on him.

If Dak is a June cut, then Dallas still has to take the cap hit.
-31 million in 2024
-30 million in 2025

After 2024, they can work a deal with Lance.

I agree with the 1st point you make. Jerry can change his mind anytime. But he would have to extend Dak. And that just adds to the problem.

If you look at the cap for 2024, you'll see the problem.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/cap/2024/

They are already Negative 11 Million in the hole. And that includes an 11 million rollover from 2023.

Designating Dak as a June cut fixes the problem. POTENTIAL OUT: 2024, 3 YR, $126,000,000; $61,915,000 DEAD CAP

And Lance is a phenom.
I'm sensing a pattern here.

I'm thinking that the 49ers evaluated him correctly but then misused him. Despite his lack of experience, they put him in there as the backup instead of 3rd QB and were forced to use him when Garoppolo went down. A year of development would have probably done him a lot of good.

To their credit, they didn't mess around. They made their decision and pulled the trigger. It usually takes 4-5 seasons of false hopes before a team will jettison a QB drafted that highly.

I think Trey Lance has already earned Mop Up Duty.

Those stadium bathrooms really need to be de-contaminated after the games.

Two things wrong with this post.

First, how do you know Lance is a bust? We don't.

Secondly, the Cowboys have a 1,2,3,7,7 plus two comp picks (likely a 5 & 6) next year for a total of 7 draft picks.
Trey Lance played 9 games in HS.
18 in College and has not really played since 2019.

He has thrown for less than 4,000 yards in his entire career - HS, College and the NFL combined.

You correct. The pattern is very clear and obvious. Dak will be resigned/extended next year. Trey will never be a starting QB for Dallas. It was a waste of a pick.

I think the bigger issue is the preparedness of Lance and him being a 1st round draft pick. I think we can see by now that the first round pick was a mistake. I don't think the 9ers let him go if there's a whole lot there to work with.

I just don't, but I admit I could be totally off base there.

Sounds like he could use every live snap he can get.

That would be nice.

But the cap says otherwise.

So you think we will pay Dak $60M next year and let him walk for Try Lance?
If I’m not mistaken, that figure is the dead cap hit(which can be stretched to two seasons), not his salary. I think after this season, all of his guaranteed money is paid out. Don’t quote me on that though

I believe Dak is due a 5 Mill bonus in March 2024.

per Spotrac

  • 2024 Roster Bonus: $5M (5th league day of 2024)
