who in the world would be so stupid to pay a 4th or more for a back up QB, who is 30 and is limited in his physical skills. Lance got the pick because he is physically gifted. he was 3rd pick of the draft. Rush is UDFA hanging on by skin of his teeth. our trash is not somebody else's treasure

I have seen stranger things. I wonder why someone would use a top 3 first round draft pick on a physically gifted player and use him for 8 games and trade him for our 4th round pick. I know he was injured in his second year but how is 8 games enough to know if he is going to be good. His stats were not terrible for a young draft pick. 6 games in 2021 5 TDs and 2 int. Not burning it up but he is a rookie.

JJ not telling Dak about the trade is no big deal. It’s not Daks job to know. Maybe it gives him a nudge to see a first round player brought on but I doubt it worries him much. JJ not telling MM about the trade sounds more like a shot at MM and maybe more telling for his job since he is calling the plays. Lance has 8 games under his belt. If Dak don’t take us to the playoffs does JJ let him go and start Lance. How does that help the team.

But here's the thing, that is all speculation. I'm sure McCarthy was on board with the trade. None of us knows the discussions they be having.

It’s as obvious as can be. This was a message to the unknowing Dak. There is no comfort for you anymore. We wouldn’t resign your BFF and now this. It’s put up or shut season.

This is an out of character move from Jerry. He does not trade draft picks for guys he has no interest in playing. It’s just not the way Jerry has ever done business.

It won’t happen fast and maybe not this year at all, but the purpose of this trade is to put pressure on Dak.

Daks contract is coming up and Jerry trades for a young, raw, 1st rounder QB and that’s supposed to be a coincidence and depth move?

Jerry could’ve signed a veteran like Wentz, Flacco, or waited until cuts, or kept Grier if he was looking for a depth move.

He didn’t even give a heads up to Dak that he was doing this knowing a splash like this will make big news and allowed Dak to be blindsided instead.

The writing is on the wall and it couldn’t be anymore clear.

Based on a video clip posted in another thread of reporters asking Dak about the trade and his notification, take from it what you will but Dak seemed a bit standoffish in his comment.....but words mean nothing next to on-the-field performance so in just under two weeks we will begin to see how Dak does.

Drafting DeMarvion Overshown means they've given up on Micah Parsons. The Cowboys want Brandin Cooks to take CeeDee Lamb's spot. The writing is on the wall for Tony Pollard after the drafting of Deuce Vaughn. Asim Richards was drafted since they clearly aren't happy with Tyler Smith. The writing is on the wall for DaRon Bland since they moved up to get Eric Scott.

Dak doesn't care about Lance nor is he threatened. The Cowboys can't cut him after the end of the year and he can't be traded. He is sitting pretty.

If anything he is saying "oh, so that's your plan to replace me? A guy who couldn't beat Mr. Irrelevant and Sam Darnold, let me ask for more $$". The Joneses and some selective dopes here are in denial. There's a reason they gave him all the money when he had his leg hanging off a couple seasons ago.
