The problem is Dak lives rent free in their head. They are more interested in being "right" about a player than the success of the team.

I want a Super Bowl. I don't care if it's Dak, Rush, Lance, or using Deuce Vaughn under center while running the wishbone offense.

I'm interested in team success. The Prescott obsession is what it is. If I am wrong in my posts and a complete stranger calls me out on it, well, so what? It's only viewpoints and opinions anyway. Nothing we say on here is going to change anything.
he actually said, he hopes Cowboys to lose with Dak than to win. Included if we make it to NFCCG or Suprbowl.

that tells you everything you need to know.

Lol. I love all these posts. He was brought in to see if they can make him into the player every team projected him to be. Of course they hope he becomes Josh Allen. If he does, he will take Daks job. Its a flyer on a potential stud QB. Unless you have Mahomes, Burrow or Allen right now, you take that flyer every time.

If they did, then yeah that would say a lot. I think they'd have to eat $80-$90 million if they cut him after this season. More than they'd pay him next season and it would hit the salary cap I believe. So yeah they can but it would be detrimental and they would no longer have a viable QB. Good luck with that....
$61.9M in dead money after this season with a 2024 cap hit of $59M....if they release him as a post-June 1st they split the dead money so it amounts to actual savings in 2024 and if it gets to where Dak agrees to remove his no-trade clause, Dallas saves similarly and gets compensation.....regardless, this is in fact a make or break year for Dak.

I'm ok with it but if he blows doors off with his new WR corp, he is going to cost a lot more in the next contract. Might be better to do a cheaper deal now.

Based off what? He was having an emotional moment because that interview occurred minutes after the team was saying goodbyes to Will Grier. Dak mentioned how close Grier was to so many teammates and that's why he sounded standoffish and a bit curt too. Mike McCarthy's postgame interview had much the same tone. A lot of friendships on this roster are about to get broken up, not just with Grier but with several other players.

Of course this doesn't fit the narrative so I'm sure this possibility will get dismissed.
Even if that were the case, Dak is experienced enough to where the answer could have been much different....and if one really wanted to they could make the argument that Dak was great friends with Zeke...and he was released...and now another player Dak was close with is being let go....seems a theme recently.

Lol. Begun? I would say the Dak wars started in 2019 when his contract was up. This is Dak WWII.

Btw I read that in Yoda’s voice. It reminded me of the last scene in attack of the clones.

Yoda- “Victory you say? Master Kenobi no. Begun the Dak Wars have.
Lol I suppose. I find this all so silly. Who has time to post so much on this crap.

I don’t have 2 accounts.

I made an account bet with you already.

My only account is already accounted for in a bet.

Dak doesn't care about Lance nor is he threatened. The Cowboys can't cut him after the end of the year and he can't be traded. He is sitting pretty.

If anything he is saying "oh, so that's your plan to replace me? A guy who couldn't beat Mr. Irrelevant and Sam Darnold, let me ask for more $$". The Joneses and some selective dopes here are in denial. There's a reason they gave him all the money when he had his leg hanging off a couple seasons ago. Good luck with the blustering Cap Boy and Jerruh...
No doubt. If JJ felt the same way about Dak as some of the members here then he would have traded the farm for a better QB. Give him weapons and he will be ok. Gallup will be better
I frequently listen to 95.7 The Fan in San Francisco and there have been whispers for the past year that Lance is not as athletically gifted as their scouting department sold him to be. They say he is not nearly as fast as his timed speed (leg injury?) and that his lack of field vision keeps him hanging onto the ball way too long which leads to unearned sacks. Obviously I have not attended a single 49er practice so I can neither confirm nor deny any of this but several of the beat writers have made that observation. He's just not the athlete they thought they were getting. And right now his mind is too slow to make up for slow feet too. But the kid deserved a second chance and he got it. Good for him. Hopefully he progresses to the point where he is at least a viable backup for Dak. If he becomes better? That wouldn't be the worst thing in the world either.. but I'm gonna have to see it to believe it.
yeah I wish we got him a few weeks ago so we could see him in preseason games. We shall see.

100% spot on, @stiletto !

If anything, Jerry just made it worse on himself and the front office. Dak and his agent will certainly be offended and up the ante way more now.
I really dislike Daks agent. He had a handshake deal with JJ and after the fins game he called and backed out of it. To me that’s not cool. At least that’s what JJ said. Contract was agreed to.

It’s as obvious as can be. This was a message to the unknowing Dak. There is no comfort for you anymore. We wouldn’t resign your BFF and now this. It’s put up or shut season.

This is an out of character move from Jerry. He does not trade draft picks for guys he has no interest in playing. It’s just not the way Jerry has ever done business.

It won’t happen fast and maybe not this year at all, but the purpose of this trade is to put pressure on Dak.

Daks contract is coming up and Jerry trades for a young, raw, 1st rounder QB and that’s supposed to be a coincidence and depth move?

Jerry could’ve signed a veteran like Wentz, Flacco, or waited until cuts, or kept Grier if he was looking for a depth move.

He didn’t even give a heads up to Dak that he was doing this knowing a splash like this will make big news and allowed Dak to be blindsided instead.

The writing is on the wall and it couldn’t be anymore clear.
Dak and Todd are very aware of this!!!! :muttley:
Please no more of these speeches....
