Dak gets extended or resigned or something. He is not going anywhere. Grabbing Lance for a 4th was a no brainer with more upside. But he isn’t taking Daks job. And it’s a team game. The team needs to get past the second round of the playoffs.Lmao!!!
I should PM him like he bet me recently (if Dak does/doesn't take this team to a conference championship game: self permanent ban is at stake) and see if he's willing to bet on if Dak will receive a contract extension or not with the Cowboys. Since he's so confident in his dismissal of Dak, it would be nice if he's willing to put membership on the line.
They traded for the veteran Cassell to play, as they benched the Redhead. I'm not sure how the Dak-brigade wins the analogy. I mean the original point was pretty obvious. You really should come up with an example that does not require an immediate need, like yours does.
Can you come up with an example of Jerry trading for a backup QB that he doesn't immediately need?
I think this is only his 3rd season. Played a few games rookie season and 6 or so the next and got injured. I could be wrong though.Another factor is Dallas would have to make a decision next year on exercising the Trey 5th year option. I just don't see them trading for him if they didn't think he was a potential long-term solution, instead of paying Dak.
I seriously doubt he will start next year. this is a move towards end of contract in 2024. Lance is not going to go from trash to golden boy in course of one year. he needs some development. its all up to Lance to get himself there. the prize is going to be nice if he does. This is one of those moves where we are hoping to gain a bit of leverage. We are not tied to dak if lance can perform. At worst, we could have a serviceable back up and at best he starts next year.
Jerry don’t trade draft picks for back up QBs.
He could’ve signed a proven vet to do that or keep Grier.
This is a wake up call to Dak. That’s why he was blindsided by it. He thought he was safe. He thought he was untouchable. He become comfortable in the mediocrity.
Lance won’t likely see the field this year. His trade was about seeing what he can be, not what he is today. Today he’s not an nfl QB but he certainly has some talent to work withLance is the new pretty toy right now just like Dak was at one time.
He’s an injury or bad stretch of games away.
Yea I have no idea if he improves that much just a best case scenario if he does. If he can overtake rush during the season as the 2 it would be a win.I seriously doubt he will start next year. this is a move towards end of contract in 2024. Lance is not going to go from trash to golden boy in course of one year. he needs some development. its all up to Lance to get himself there. the prize is going to be nice if he does.
and it gives Jerry some leverage in negotiations which he stupidly didn't have last time. I hope Lance can take over for Rush this season. I am not sure if that's going to happen.
Actually you are correct in that he was drafted in 2021 draft. What I meant was based off Jerry's interview. Obviously, Trey won't be playing this year unless something crazy happens, but Jerry mentioned, when asked about the current Trey contract they inherited, that if he pans out they would look to sign him before the question of whether to exercise a fifth year option even happens. The main point being a long-term contract would be cheaper than him having to hit the market after the fifth. This would indicate Jerry would be looking at Trey getting some significant looks in his fourth season.I think this is only his 3rd season. Played a few games rookie season and 6 or so the next and got injured. I could be wrong though.
so much TMZ in that statement. You forgot the “Tony Romo cannot return before November 22 after breaking his collarbone” part, Dak fan.
Is Dak secretly hurt already? Is that why Jerry made this move?
You just got owned.
FAIL
even MM didn't know until the very end.JJ not telling Dak about the trade is no big deal. It’s not Daks job to know. Maybe it gives him a nudge to see a first round player brought on but I doubt it worries him much. JJ not telling MM about the trade sounds more like a shot at MM and maybe more telling for his job since he is calling the plays. Lance has 8 games under his belt. If Dak don’t take us to the playoffs does JJ let him go and start Lance. How does that help the team.
he drafted a project, which is what we all have been asking for. so Far Lance looks like crap in NFL, specially for the 3rd pick of the draft. he has looked like Shiet in season and pre-season.Jerry don’t trade draft picks for back up QBs.
He could’ve signed a proven vet to do that or keep Grier.
This is a wake up call to Dak. That’s why he was blindsided by it. He thought he was safe. He thought he was untouchable. He become comfortable in the mediocrity.
To be clear. I am not trying to defend MC. I am attacking you. lol
The fact that you are incapable of understanding the nuance here is not surprising. That is a common trait of someone who's ego far exceeds their intelligence.
Will you at least admit the two situations you are comparing have a very significant difference?
yeah and that worked out so well. They traded for the veteran Cassell to play, as they benched the Redhead. I'm not sure how the Dak-brigade wins the analogy. I mean the original point was pretty obvious.
he is so excited and he is just rambling...too many voices in his head talking at the same time. one of them is Dak given he lives in his head rent free.I'm not really sure what you are even saying. You have too many empty posts.
That would be nice. Rush guaranteed money is paid I believe. So JJ could trade Rush and get back his 4th round he used for Lance. Maybe more than a 4th, was a lot of interest in him after his games he won. But maybe not that much if he took 2 year 5 million deal. 2.7 guaranteed and I believe is paid up. Trade and move Lance to back up. Risky as we don’t know how good or bad he is. But has to have something to get picked 3rd over all.Actually you are correct in that he was drafted in 2021 draft. What I meant was based off Jerry's interview. Obviously, Trey won't be playing this year unless something crazy happens, but Jerry mentioned, when asked about the current Trey contract they inherited, that if he pans out they would look to sign him before the question of whether to exercise a fifth year option even happens. Remember also, Rush is signed for 2 years as well. So it could go either way in that they want another guy once Rush is done with the contract. But the reality is Lance is a number 1 pick and Jerry didn't wait and he mentioned his own scouts looked at him and they would have loved to have gotten him in 2021. So I think they are actually thinking best case scenario is Trey kills it and they don't have to put their eggs in the Dak basket anymore.
eagles fans know cowboys history better.Did Cassell start?
You got schooled cause you didn’t know he was traded for because Romo was injured.
Dak fans don’t know Cowboys history.
chance for what?Cooper will never be given the chance.
