That's not how the QB market works. That's not how NFL offenses work. How many times are you guys going to keep on with this lazy take that Dak should be able to basically walk on water because of how much he's paid? This team had no alternative at QB. The high round QBs Dallas has been linked to recently were Paxton Lynch and Johnny Manziel. Dallas lucked into Romo and Dak being the successes they are. When you have a QB who just finished second in MVP voting and is an 8 year starter who has led the team to the playoffs 3 years straight, you pay them. Mahomes, Montanna, etc., couldn't do any more than Dak has this year when his receivers run bad routes, get no separation, the O-line is constantly letting him get pressured on almost 50% of drop backs, etc. etc. etc. etc. No running game whatsoever. Your defense not helping at all in the home blowouts. Poor situational playcalling by McCarthy. Dak has made some poor decisions like that pick in the endzone against Detroit, but much of that seems to be a product of him just trying to force things to happen. These aren't "excuses". This is an entire paragraph of black and white facts that every single component of this team on offense outside of QB, WR1, and TE1 has been too bad to overcome. Dak has absolutely failed in some big moments, especially in the playoffs, when he's had the opportunity to elevate the team around him and win games, and has failed to do so. But this year? This insanity that's unfolding around us? He is literally last on the list of why we've had these historic losses.

When things were just slightly better last year Dak finished second in MVP voting. No one was trying to "play Jerry". They, moreover their agents, do what every single player in the league does, or what any of us in our careers do, and seek maximum compensation for their skillset.

We are all very frustrated fans right now and are looking for anywhere and anyone at which to direct our anger. But that anger is turning some of y'all into blind, angry talking heads when it comes to just using your eyes and applying a basic understanding of football and what it takes for offenses to work. I don't believe I've heard many, if any people who know about football or who are paid to talk about football make any of the assertions people on this board do about Dak. The blame for this season rests solely with Jerry, and to a lesser extent McCarthy.
Do you honestly think Dak is even a top 5 QB?

You're right, it is all Jerrys fault. No, I would have not paid Dak. I wouldn't have paid CeeDee either. And now Im not paying Parsons.

I wouldnt have traded away a 4th for Lance either.

Who was the last QB we drafted after Dak? Mike White? Jerry backed himself into a corner. Tried to get some leverage back by throwing away a 4th.

Jerry is a clown. Dak is slightly above average. CeeDee bulked up and doesnt look as quick. Just more bad contracts to add to the list.

Not saying Troy is wrong, but he's always defending Dak and making excuses for him.
Troy is spot on what he is saying here. Too many on here want to just point the finger at Dak and pretend that is the be all end all. This whole offense stinks from top to bottom. OL is weak. Weak RBs. Outside of Lamb, no other WRs with talent. And even Lamb runs lazy routes.

Most fans just love to jump on the "Blame Dak For all" bandwagon and pretend replacing him is the only thing we need.

Aikman is just one of countless people who have spoken about this offense and this goes back to the Romo days under Garrett as OC.

Former Cowboys QB Troy Aikman on @dfwticket on Dallas' wide receivers: "I think the routes are terrible. I think they run terrible routes. And I've thought that beyond this year. I think CeeDee (Lamb) has got to improve in his route running. As a quarterback, if you're not certain where guys are going to be consistently, it's hard to play the position. That's what I see. I see guys lazy coming off the line of scrimmage. Sometimes they run, usually if they do, it's because they're anticipating they're going to get the football on that play, but if they're not, they don't. And it all ties together. I'm not impressed with that part of it."

"I just finished watching the Baltimore Ravens because I have them this week. You put on film of theirs and watch their receivers run routes and they come off the football, so does San Francisco's and Green Bay's and others. But it's hard to play the (QB) position if you're not certain how guys are going to run routes or where they're going to be. And I'm not speaking for Dak (Prescott). Dak may say, 'Hey, I think (their routes) are amazing.' But as a former quarterback watching it, it's gotta get a lot better."

Imagine being that.

He’s not a talent of their caliber. You don’t have to like it, but it’s reality.
It’s just what it is. Product of forcing footballs his way.
LOL, thats it exactly. If you like FGs - the Cowboys this year are the team to watch. He is damn fun and exciting- thats for sure. Sure wanted to see him kick that 71 - yard FG earlier this season. Thats all we have right now is the kicker to watch for.
They won’t even let us get a record breaking even they have to crap on that lol.

Chase can do things Lamb can't do and he sees coverage Lamb doesn't see. They are not on the same level.
People are just talking. I don’t expect them to know how good Chase is. It’s a reason why he’s holding out to be paid higher than Lamb and why Lamb took less than Jetta.

Everyone can see it and yet we do nothing and expect everything. Can never improve as a team like this and we definitely won't get anywhere

It was the same with Romo at qb. Broken plays were the meat of the offense. Rarely do we out scheme opposing defenses. In the event we do run a successful designed play you can be sure to not see it again for a while. I'm not sure if thats by design but it's something I've noticed.
I agree. All of his biggest plays are improvision. Stale offensive schemes because they won’t go get a smart play caller. But it’s been a problem you are right.

Jamarr Chase in games this season when Tee Higgins was out:

6 for 62 yards
4 for 35 yards
0 TDs

Jamarr Chase in games with Tee Higgins:

6 for 118 yards
3 for 85 yards
10 for 193 yards
5 for 72 yards

5 TDs

Maybe we should get Ceedee a Tee Higgins so he isnt constantly double and triple teamed

Read here TA was just a jag riding the bus, and a mediocre QB of the era, what does he know. Also read here Dak is a far superior QB to TA who is saddled with poor teams and weapons and is far superior in stats, so why listen to TA what did he ever accomplish

CD already had Amari..

Stop with the excuses for CD. That boy has no dawg in him and that's his downfall as a ball player.

You put aggressive CB's on lamb and he wilts.
