Former Cowboys QB Troy Aikman on @dfwticket on Dallas' wide receivers: "I think the routes are terrible. I think they run terrible routes. And I've thought that beyond this year. I think CeeDee (Lamb) has got to improve in his route running. As a quarterback, if you're not certain where guys are going to be consistently, it's hard to play the position. That's what I see. I see guys lazy coming off the line of scrimmage. Sometimes they run, usually if they do, it's because they're anticipating they're going to get the football on that play, but if they're not, they don't. And it all ties together. I'm not impressed with that part of it."

"I just finished watching the Baltimore Ravens because I have them this week. You put on film of theirs and watch their receivers run routes and they come off the football, so does San Francisco's and Green Bay's and others. But it's hard to play the (QB) position if you're not certain how guys are going to run routes or where they're going to be. And I'm not speaking for Dak (Prescott). Dak may say, 'Hey, I think (their routes) are amazing.' But as a former quarterback watching it, it's gotta get a lot better."

Just another sign of the mentality of this team, lazy route running, lazy tackling, half-hearted efforts across the board. This is just an unserious team from top to bottom, it's just become part of the culture.

Troy told us Dak was the best QB and Jerry should sign him 5 years ago , and pay him 60 million this year and that he is the guy, They have businesses together and dak gives him access . But what we see in dak is a mediocre , error prone, inconsistent QB who folds against good defenses . Not a terrible QB as he sometimes plays well. But he is definietely not a 45 or 60 million QB. Are you kidding!!! Dallas could have had garoplo , baker mayfield, or stafford , 3-4 years ago for 50% less cost and won more .

So because troy had an observation we don't put some blame on Dak?? Like several said on here, I think it's both, and let's not forget the play design
Dak takes his blame without a doubt. He has not played well this season and you pair that with the tram as a whole and they all have stunk it up. But the thing I look at are all the people, professional and otherwise who recognize the glaring issues with our offense and defense this year. We don't have thr guys, we don't have the plays, we aren't trying, we just plain look like we gave up already.

:hammer: ....Funny what former players see....How big of a clown show this entire organization has become.

I imagine Troy is more defending the QB position than just Dak.
Only way to tell is put a different QB in, oh ya that’s been done. Ceedee has been a 1000 yard wr with three different QBs in college. Mayfield, Murray, and Hurts. Who has Dak elevated exactly. Amari was great before Dak and if not for Watson debacle he’d still be producing. I agree ceedee has let his emotions run high, but he’ll I’m irritated with Dak too. Dak throws everyone under the bus and never has taken accountability for his own poor performances.

Jamarr Chase in games this season when Tee Higgins was out:

6 for 62 yards
4 for 35 yards
0 TDs

Jamarr Chase in games with Tee Higgins:

6 for 118 yards
3 for 85 yards
10 for 193 yards
5 for 72 yards

5 TDs

Maybe we should get Ceedee a Tee Higgins so he isnt constantly double and triple teamed

He's not double teamed nearly as much as you would think.

Listen to Schottenheimers interview buddy.

If you think all the variables from last season are the same besides Ceedee’s play, then LOL

Plus, i like how u dodged the point of my post.
Jamarr and his “superior way of seeing coverage” didnt appear on the stat sheet until Tee Higgins returned from injury.

All 22 is available and it's the cost of a couple of trips to Starbucks. You don't need to have someone paint the picture for you, you can watch yourself.
Post it then. Give me all the plays where Ceedee is getting clamped 1v1

That's not how the QB market works. That's not how NFL offenses work. How many times are you guys going to keep on with this lazy take that Dak should be able to basically walk on water because of how much he's paid? This team had no alternative at QB. The high round QBs Dallas has been linked to recently were Paxton Lynch and Johnny Manziel. Dallas lucked into Romo and Dak being the successes they are. When you have a QB who just finished second in MVP voting and is an 8 year starter who has led the team to the playoffs 3 years straight, you pay them. Mahomes, Montanna, etc., couldn't do any more than Dak has this year when his receivers run bad routes, get no separation, the O-line is constantly letting him get pressured on almost 50% of drop backs, etc. etc. etc. etc. No running game whatsoever. Your defense not helping at all in the home blowouts. Poor situational playcalling by McCarthy. Dak has made some poor decisions like that pick in the endzone against Detroit, but much of that seems to be a product of him just trying to force things to happen. These aren't "excuses". This is an entire paragraph of black and white facts that every single component of this team on offense outside of QB, WR1, and TE1 has been too bad to overcome. Dak has absolutely failed in some big moments, especially in the playoffs, when he's had the opportunity to elevate the team around him and win games, and has failed to do so. But this year? This insanity that's unfolding around us? He is literally last on the list of why we've had these historic losses.

When things were just slightly better last year Dak finished second in MVP voting. No one was trying to "play Jerry". They, moreover their agents, do what every single player in the league does, or what any of us in our careers do, and seek maximum compensation for their skillset.

We are all very frustrated fans right now and are looking for anywhere and anyone at which to direct our anger. But that anger is turning some of y'all into blind, angry talking heads when it comes to just using your eyes and applying a basic understanding of football and what it takes for offenses to work. I don't believe I've heard many, if any people who know about football or who are paid to talk about football make any of the assertions people on this board do about Dak. The blame for this season rests solely with Jerry, and to a lesser extent McCarthy.
He’s only an 8 year starter with a participation trophy bc he’s on the cowboys. Send Dak to Cleveland or Panthers and he’s out of league in two years tops. He sucks and it will really show just how bad he sucks. Put him on a losing Cleveland team and see if he takes them to there first playoff appearance in 10 years. Dallas already had enough and he did produce with that talent when it mattered. This is Daks first year where he has been asked to overcome lack of talent and it’s obvious he can’t.

I pay money for All-22 access so I can inform myself, not to do your homework for you. You can scrape a few bucks together and educate yourself, or base your knowledge purely on what this coaching staff tells you. That's up to you.

Troy is spot on what he is saying here. Too many on here want to just point the finger at Dak and pretend that is the be all end all. This whole offense stinks from top to bottom. OL is weak. Weak RBs. Outside of Lamb, no other WRs with talent. And even Lamb runs lazy routes.

Most fans just love to jump on the "Blame Dak For all" bandwagon and pretend replacing him is the only thing we need.

Aikman is just one of countless people who have spoken about this offense and this goes back to the Romo days under Garrett as OC.
Dak sucks x8 years, now 9 years. Second in voting??? lol who cares who was second, I’m not even sure how that vote even happened. He got one or two votes, every other vote was for Lamar, have to go pretty low to use this as a measure of how great he played.

CD already had Amari..

Stop with the excuses for CD. That boy has no dawg in him and that's his downfall as a ball player.

You put aggressive CB's on lamb and he wilts.
He had Amari and he produced with and without him. He didn’t wilt as Amari was injured multiple games his last year here.
