Wanna know why Aikman can't stand Bayless? Here's an excerpt from an article Bayless wrote in D Magazine in September of 1996:

"One member of the Switzer camp had told me that Aikman, in a sideline blowup during the Dec. 3 loss to Washington at Texas Stadium, had called receiver Kevin Williams a “******.” And several Switzer loyalists had encouraged me to look into a rumor I’ve heard for four years-that Aikman is gay."

So Bayless was spreading rumors Aikman was gay and a racist.

Well everybody knows you can't be gay and a racist!

We've always had this type of sports journalist .

You just had to make a bigger effort to find it listening to radio ,reading newspapers and magazines before the technology boom and ESPN, etc.

We've allowed it to grow because we tune in providing them their platform which has become more entertainment with scripted dialogue and agendas to attract the masses. Who knows anymore if this is even how they really feel?

Controversy and half truths have always sold. Cant blame Aikman for not liking Bayless.

But it's been over 20 years. Seems kind of beneath Troy to go so off the handle about something from that long ago.

If it's purely Troy's knee jerk reaction because of a personal vendetta, then I agree. However, I think Troy sees Skip as someone who simply profits off his biased and baseless opinions, in which case Troy ain't wrong.

Skip is almost impossible to watch. But I think Shannon Sharpe may be worse.

When you watch that video they both sound like idiots. Skip thinks Dak is Cam Newton and Shannon thinks we are going 7-9.

I love what Dak has done so far and was actually rooting for us to draft him. I hope he looks great and becomes our future, but he is a rookie who has never played a snap in the NFL regular season. To say he is Cam Newton is stupid.

Aikman is Fox's #1 NFL analyst. I'm guessing ratings don't lie for that also.

Commentators are good and all, but the games basically drive themselves to some degree. What are you going to do with programming AFTER the season is over? That's where Skip Bayless comes in (along with during the week commentary).

Aikman ripped FOX for hiring Skip Bayless away from ESPN and giving Bayless his own First Take knockoff show on FOX Sports 1. Aikman has disliked Bayless since the 1990s, when Bayless wrote a book about the Cowboys that included unsubstantiated rumors that Aikman is gay.

I remembering hearing on one of the local Cowboys radios shows (KRLD) a player being asked who he would want with him walking in a dark alley. The player said he would want Tui watching his back.

Skip is a professional troll. He says things just to get noticed and get people riled up. It's how he was when he was here in Dallas when The Ticket started up. You know what you are getting when you listen/watch him.

Aikman always said he would love to fight him if he ever ran into him. After Skip saying he was gay. He still hates him over that it seems. And he's just saying what a lot of people think about Skip. But he brings ratings and that's why Fox paid him the big bucks to make the switch.

Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith are, in my opinion, shock jocks for sports radio/tv.

Maybe they used to be journalists; maybe they used to really report; maybe someone knows more about them than I do, but ...

When was the last time either of them wrote a legitimate, sports newsworthy article that was news?
When was the last time either of them broke a story?
When was the last time either of them really reported on anything inside a locker room?

They are basically loud, abrasive guys who share and argue their opinions about everything sports related without actually reporting any news...as I see it. I respect them about as much as I do Howard Stern....entertaining at times, but I never actually learn anything.

But wonder when Troy's contract is up. And if he uses this to get a huge deal from FOX but looking to jump networks. Or may just leave anyway for a huge deal.
