Troy Aikman: 'Unless practices change,' Cowboys may not win a title in another 20 years either

But why game plan if your using the same plan each and every game? Why keep running the same play over and over and expect different results?

On 3rd and short situations everyone knew that the Cowboys was running it up the middle. Then low and behold, we are so surprised that the defense stopped it. We were last this year on 3rd and 1 situations and that had nothing to do with Romo being hurt.

I don't understand this madness and I wish for it to end.

It's going to take more than changing practices for the Cowboys to win another title.

He's saying exactly what many of us have said the past decade on this organization. It isn't him talking crap. He's going off observation and was speaking real.

I have been saying this for years.......So this is nothing new. And watching this weeks Sr. Bowl practices just confirms my suspicions. I had to laugh when Houston coach Bill O'brien was questioning what the hell we are doing.... stopping in the middle of practice...and stretching...As if this was gonna help prevent hamstring injuries or something. The only coach on this staff that has a clue is OL coach Frank Pollack. @ least he was trying to coach up some of these kids. As for the rest....I wouldn't give you a dime for all of them. Wade Wilson has literally hid all week...when he should have been in Wentz's ear...finding out what he knows and doesn't know. Instead...we have a coaching staff that is blowing a golden opportunity to really get to know these kids.

I heard the interview live last week, Aikman was referring to common practices by front office & management not individual on field practices. His shot was at the way the organization has been run from the top down for the last 20 years. Aikman speaks the GD truth.

"I don't know," said Aikman. "This team, for 20 years, really has been so inconsistent. And unless practices change, I don't see that changing any time soon. You look back at last year and 12-4 and get excited about that, but was 12-4 really what this team is or is 8-8? I don't think 4-12 is this year because of the injuries that occurred.

"But you've got to do it more than once every seven or eight years before you can say, 'Hey, the things that we're doing are really paying off.' It's been a long history of frustration and up-and-down years, and, for the most part, disappointment.

"And I think you've got to be able to look back on something and say, 'OK, we're building something here and these things that we do pay off,' but I haven't seen that, so I don't anticipate any time soon anything being any different from what we've seen the last 20 years."

Some of us think you're talking crap about the Boys Troy but I can see through all of that. Your heart hurts just as much as that of the most avid Cowboy Fan and you do an excellent job hiding any bias while on screen.

Every single word is true. No hatred whatsoever. It's actually called tough love.

Which is why I stopped caring about what qb or player we can get. Because of their inability to coach and develop and their inability to to pick the right player for their system.

How did you hear this, was he commentating about the way the practices were being run somewhere?

And of course...he can never describe in any detail what is going on in practice.

I can tell you that I spoke to one of Troy's former teammates a few years ago and that's what he used to sell me *on* Garrett. His style of practicing was far better than Wade's according to this player.

It's also funny that 'you are what you are' when you have a poor record, but when you go 12-4 you're 'really an 8-8 team.'

Go figure.

And no...injuries can't be blamed for going 4-12. You're only in a QB driven league and a passing game league and you lose your star QB and star WR for the year. Nah, can't be a problem at all. Must be about practice.

YR

And players use to say they walked on egg shells during the Parcells... Mincey says he's better for this team than Hardy because he understands football..

Why do people assume a player doesn't have his own biases? I'm sure Hayden loves the fact Marinelli is his coach, because he puts him on the field..

We are a highly penalized team... We also dropped in penalties by over ten on offense the year Callahan partially took over the offense.. The results are tyer to speak for themselves..
