True Detective Season 2 Trailer

Funny thing about Taylor Kitsch...I swear he looks like a young Timothy Olyphant in this series. I had not noticed it before with him in other roles but there were mutliple times I thought to myself...Wow Olyphant looks young only to go...duh that is not him.

Concerning the first season. I liked it however I did not think it was the be all end all that some thought it was. It was good but not one of the best ever as some seemed to think. Of course I like Matthew mcconaughey but people were acting like he was doing the bestest of best acting jobs in that series and I thought he was just playing another version of every other person he plays but without the humor. In other words, when someone is playing themselves...not a big acting job IMO.

But that is just me.

I'm with you. Thought True Detective was good but nothing amazing. And I don't see the fascination with Matt. He's definitely improved his image as an actor. Not too long ago, he still wasn't being taken seriously as a dramatic actor. Now he is and people are overlooking their perceptions (**cough cough** Vince Vaughn) and realizing his talent. But I'm not caught up in all the hype about Season 1 and Matt's performance. Both were very good but nothing that can't be duplicated or bettered.

True Detective is a slow mover, but there is something interesting about the story Nic Pizzolatto is outlining... look to the books shown, and the name of Rachel McAdams character....means a lot... This will not be straight forward... this is a greek tragedy playing out....

There is so much subtext in this show..... If as a viewer you don't like the way someone "looks", or there isn't enough action... than this show isn't for you. Its still very much in the set up stage. We've learned the back stories (sort of), now we are learning the relationships prior to Caspere's death, and everyone's surface motives......... You have to be willing to play detective as a viewer. It seems like every other phrase is a double entendre.

And its not season one..... but i'm equally intrigued.

Episode 3 was excellent imo..... The whole show is drenched in "fire".... red, & yellow colour
