Trying to win with a QB who can’t run and is slow

dak can run the problem is he doesn’t do it enough. He is not fast but he can run over some people.

In the playoffs, he will have to run if we have any chance of advancing far. It just adds a dimension to the offense.

OH the negative nellies are in their pig slop glory this week aren't they?

All of this lunacy makes losing that much worse. Don't even care that we lost a meaningless game yesterday...hate having to see all of this wakadoodle analysis.

I know you are all PRAYING that we lose this week so you can spam the forum all offseason with your drivel....

Did you see the stat yesterday? Since 2020 Dak has averaged more points then both Mahomes and Josh Allen. Isn't scoring the most important thing?
It is one of the measurements, however, there needs a metric that includes QBR to address the component/garbage time factor.

yeah right.. “mailed it in”, by having your starters play all 4 quarters, Dak dancing around to start the third, fist pumping dudes like he got it…. The Philly and 49ers game still not settled at this point in time with potential bye and HF advantage on the line, because Dak on the road and on turf screams Marino..
Yep, it was the 'basic package'. Agree the starters were there, but the play configuration (and using Brown as the go to receiver) didn't instill a 'must-win' attitude.
I get the feeling that the fanbase was more optimistic of the bye week than the team was.

And D scoring. FP from TO's.

Simply counting points scored is silly, as there is a ton more to it than that.

Dak will wow you with some big statistical games, but he will also wow you with some abysmal play. Double edged sword with him each week as we have no idea which of those players will show up. The one thing I am tired of is after a poor game, he says, "I've got to be better and I will be" Then 2 games later he is back making terrible reads and throwing the ball to the other team. I don't mind Dak as the QB, but not at his current contract. Shave 70% off that contract and I won't be so critical of him.

How can i not be? It is just all of the titles of posts even.

Can we be any more dramatic and overreactive?

They gotta be elite passer. Dak ain’t elite throwing. He ain’t good running - so unless better wr and outstanding play calling basically have no shot at winning.
I am convinced Dak's biggest problems are mental. Does anyone remember Steve Sax, who played for the Dodgers and Yankees? He was considered one of the better fielding 2nd basemen in baseball until one day he couldn't make an ordinary throw to 1st base. He'd field a ground ball and with plenty of time to throw 40 feet to the 1st baseman he would throw it wildly almost anywhere but at the first basemen. He had something like 30 throwing errors in one year. They dubbed it the Steve Sax Syndrome, and it is all mental.

Can a QB develop a similar ailment? Yesterday Dak was having difficulty throwing simple passes to the RBs in the flat. On one 3rd down play he had Pollard wide open and Dak threw it in the dirt. I have no idea why he was so off yesterday, but he was clearly struggling to hit his receivers running routine routes. Was Dak rattled for some reason? Or is he struggling with a mental condition similar to the yips in golf? If there is nothing wrong with him physically then the only explanation for a performance like yesterday has got to be mental. Who knows what is going on in Dak's head but let's hope it is a one game thing.

At the same time, I am getting sick of hearing Dak say it will get fixed, and it will not happen again, only to see him do the same thing the following week. Every week he says the same thing. Dak should just say I played poorly and leave it at that. We know he has to play better. We know he is trying. But that is not good enough. Words don't mean a thing. It is clear at this point he has no control over the INTs and he cannot stop doing it so why say it will stop? Just play better or shut up. The problem for Dallas is Dak seems to be getting worse every year.

I am convinced it is mental with Dak because he will play so poorly for a quarter in some games then have a HoF performance for the rest of the game. What changed? It cannot be physical and it never was with Dak despite all the excuses of bad shoulders, bad ankles, bad thumbs, etc. I am surprised the Cowboys did not rollout the hyperextended knee as an excuse after yesterday's game.

Actually, no, and the teams who focus on that do not win the super bowls.

When you get to the playoffs, all bets are off. Everything suddenly becomes about controlling the LOS and moving the ball. How many points you scored in the regular season is completely irrelevant.
Big time pressure on both Dak/MM to produce in the playoffs!

You have no shot at winning because of your owner/gm.

Well okay then. Thanks for clarifying.
Man...our OL and TEs SUCK! I watched Tony and Zeke get2-3 yards all game long. The TE was just standing at the line of scrimmage. Just standing there. No push no holes. Then I watch other teams' OLs be 5 yards downfield almost every play.

Sickening.
Run game hasn't been the same since Steele got hurt. It's at red alert status now, as this team won't win without it!
