The Cowboys are riding the coattails of pretty good defense combined with a soft schedule to date. Awuzie better do a 180 degree turnaround on his technique because the offense is not capable enough in the passing game to overcome his coverage gaffes when the opponent can mount more than twenty points - which ALL the real contenders can do.

it was a game ruled by defenses, ours and theirs. we overcame being without 4 d-linemen. we pressured ryan often. the o-line showed some dominance once again. zeke had great game. the bus driver stayed in his lanes and scored drives on 3 of the last 4. and when the fat lady sang, we were victorious. what's wrong with that.

I get it dude and I'm hopeful....but honestly at this point I highly doubt this team could hold it's own against the rams or saints whoch I would suggest are the class of the nfc....not saying we can't improve a bit by then but right now just happy we got a shot on thanksgiving to take a share of the nfce lead....

I doubt it too but you never know. I never thought the giants could beat us on the road, GB on the road and beat the undefeated pats in the super bowl. Didn't think they could get past the falcons in 2011 and then the 1 loss GB team then the pats. They lost 5 out of their last 8 that year and needed a win and in game against us to get in. So it's not like they went in with aamy momentum.

I can't see us doing it but many, and I mean many, never saw them doing it in 07 or 11. Hell, I never saw it from Philly last year either. Lol

Yeah I like Sturm but he is smart enough to know why some Cowboys fans are conflicted at seeing this team potentially win the worst division in the league at 9-7 only to go 1 and done in the playoffs and see this HC return.

Really good win today but Dallas needs to clean it up. We sorta won the last two weeks in spite of ourselves.

What Sturm doesn’t get is that Cowboys fans are tired of .500 football. We’re 5-5 and there’s a good chance we’ll be 6-6 going into the mini bye. If the Cowboys can somehow win the next two games, a lot of fans will have a more positive outlook.

I’m hard on Garrett, Linehan, and Dak but once that ball is kicked off I can’t help but root for all three of them to be successful and pull for Dallas to win. Even week 17 last year when Philly didn’t care, Dallas’ season was over, and a loss would have meant a better pick I still couldn’t help but root for the win.

But, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t understand why some say that’s counterproductive.

I’m struck how well the media coerces the masses—how their words mold perception, changing it from week to week making the obscenely wealthy even wealthier.

Take the Cowboys, painted all week as the underdogs, a terribly flawed 4-5 team staggering into Atlanta to take on the offensive juggernaut of Matty Ice and Julio Jones. Most of the experts picked Atlanta, but we know how THAT turned out! What got me was the wording of the post game coverage. We were behind 6-3 at halftime, and 9-6 after 3 quarters, but out scored Atlanta 16-10 in the 4th. Despite that, one site reported “the Cowboys squandered a ten point lead in the 4th quarter” and “shook off a mixed extra point and kicked a 42 yard FG on the final play...”

So what’s my point? Influencing the rating$ to their advantage in a subtle way. They KNOW the largest fan base will stay engaged, filled with hope after a road win over a respected opponent with a recent playoff pedigree. Knowing there’s also a large demo that want to watch Rome burn, the wording of the report defines a bumbling team lucky to escape. Had they made people see an emerging powerhouse in Big D, MAYBE they feared too many would opt for alternate entertainment. Seriously, I know TONS of people who have no interest in watching a drunken Jerry Jones hugging fat Governors or high fiving eyeglass cleaners in the luxury box.
