Two “real pressures”. I suspect the careful choice in those words means the standard metric of a pressure that everyone else is using probably had a number higher than 2.
This is a weak LT draft class.I think he needs to take Steele's spot and Jerry should draft a LT with the premium pick coming our way. LT is one of the hardest positions in football to find. Giant men with quick feet tend to play basketball not football. We also have to replace Zach Martin most likely.
Mazi is worse than the talent around him.I know I know. I am giving him 1 more year because the level of talent around him is atrocious.
Are you personally acquainted with Guyton? Have you conferred with members of the Cowboys’ coaching staff? Or are you making this assessment based on what you watch on TV? If this is based on what you’ve heard or read from media paid to get your attention your opinion is just that. It’s early I know but TG has all the traits of a bust. It seems like all the negatives coming out of college were true and he brought them all to the NFL. Mentally he is weak and immature and that will never work in the NFL at tackle. I haven’t given up on Mazi but Guyton looks like a big mistake.
Talk me down.
I don't think they are going to do all of that.My easy solution:
Move Guyton to RT, release Steele
Tyler back to LT
Move Beebee to LG or RG, Martin retires.
Draft a C or FA
Draft another G or FA
Hire best OL coach out there.
Is that Jerry? No one can be this literal. Are you personally acquainted with Guyton? Have you conferred with members of the Cowboys’ coaching staff? You like the great Carl Lawson huh?Mazi is worse than the talent around him.
Will be ? He is.It’s early I know but TG has all the traits of a bust. It seems like all the negatives coming out of college were true and he brought them all to the NFL. It’s his first year at Left Tackle and the guy started his college career as a TE..
I think he’s done a really good job all things considered and there is a ton of upside.
Worst case scenario we can always draft another stud LT and move him to RT.
Trust the processWill be ? He is.
3rd first round bust in a row.
But hey we are a great drafting team which builds thru the draft!
The fact that you have hope for Mazi but not Guyton is hilarious. It’s early I know but TG has all the traits of a bust. Decent leverage and quick feet??? What the hell are you talking about. That guy plays with no leverage. He is way too upright. Guy has actually regressed this year as DEs are routinely beating him on the edge, with power and/or hand fighting. He has no answer for any of that. Meanwhile his response is to sit it out and sulk. Furthermore I haven’t seen a weaker Tackle in my life. Guy has the shoulders of a WR. All the tools??? Get bent. The fact that you have hope for Mazi but not Guyton is hilarious.
Mazi Smith BLOWS, I watch line play, he literally does nothing well. He doesn’t get off the ball, he can’t anchor, plays with bad leverage, bad hand usage, has no pass rush moves, doesn’t get off blocks etc. He’ll be out of the league in a couple years.
Guyton is raw but he has the tools. He has quick feet and plays with decent leverage. At times he gets too much waist bend in his pass set and he opens the gate or oversets sometimes but I think has to do with NFL speed and switching sides.. Switching sides Is a bigger adjustment than most people realize, add that to his rawness and the learning curve will be steep but he’ll be a solid starter.
It’s far too early to make a definitive judgement on Guyton. Mazi has shown less, but few defensive tackles are dominant in their first couple of years in the league. Mazi looks more questionable than Guyton. Is that Jerry? No one can be this literal.
The difference is Guyton is a rookie who has been thrown into the fire since Week 1 against some of the best Edge Rushers every single week. So of course he is going to struggle. Any rookie would. Ok, so why come in here and comment? Go stick to your Eagles website and spew your hate elsewhere where it matters. That statement means absolutely nothing. All OTs win a vast majority of their snaps. If an OT did not win a majority of his snaps, he would probably be the worst OT in NFL history.

100% correct, brother!!! I've been saying this for the past 5+ years! Like you said, Jerry needs to swallow his pride and pay for the very best Oline coach available to come to Dallas and coach up these Olinemen into BEASTS!Guyton played well his last three games he played. The Cowboys issue to me is coaching. The offensive line coach is garbage. Jerry needs to pay to money for assistant coaches ok next years staff. Stop being cheap. Pay for the best coaches. See Eagles………
Are we surprise with this circusMazi is worse than the talent around him.
