That's the problem with going cheap and cutting depth. This game is too physical to believe you don't need high-quality backups. Steele's on a cheap rookie deal. There would have been nothing wrong with riding out Collins' deal until forced to decide which one to pay. In fact, it looks like that would have been decided by Tyron's latest injury. Keep both and let Tyron ride off into the sunset.
You would’ve saved 13 million by making Tyron a June 1 cut.

Sign Eric Fisher, STAT!

It's a no brainer (unless we consider moving Tyler without any pre-season LT seasoning :().

We have the CAP to get Fisher (and outbid any Steeler/ Bears interest) and even though he's not the 'Chief's Fisher' he's an upgrade on what we've got.

The interesting part is whether the Jones stay LOYAL to one of their own, or say to Tyron ...sorry but we'll have to cut you in 2023 (saving $9.5m (pre) or $13m (post).

So glad we addressed the obvious this offseason. So many options to plug in at LT.

Because the Jones didnt want to pay for an expensive swing FA, hoping Tyron could lock down the position, after all the injury in 2021 vrs Vikings was an on field injury that cant be planned against.

The resulting collapse in 2020 (Dak) and 2021 (Tyron) show how after the injury the team fell apart without it's starter's ....and there's nothing we could really do about it. Fisher was always going to be the 'emergency' back up option and I wonder if word had got out that a team (poss. Bears or Steelers) were going to sign him then we'd jump in.

Move him *back* to the position he played the last 2 years and we want him to play into the future.

And could just be the future is now. I wouldn't be shocked if Tyron doesn't play another game for the Cowboys.

This is just the kind of scenario that could end Tyron's career. Out long for injury, with a replacement the Cowboys have invested heavily in..

The problem with that plan is that: 1) Tyler got no snaps at LT in pre-season 2) it would mean McGovern and Tyler combo on the left side.

Regardless of how Tyler will develop, at the moment he's still a rookie and without the pre-season experience at LT we will be giving every Defense a point of weakness to attack....at least he's shown promise as a LG (agree it's a 1 year, get your NFL experience until he hopefully progresses to LT in 2023) and having a veteran (eg Fisher) outside you somewhat alleviate the red flag of the combo of Tyler/McGovern.

Guys...SB was never an option for this year. Now Conference and Division titles are off the table. It's Philthy all the way. This team will not pay any other player who's vested until after week 1. All the money they have on the cap is for 3 players looking for big contracts starting with Ceedee and Micah. Quit living in a dream world created by Jerry.

Smh, there is no one on this site/thread that's surprised at this development. Therefore, why is this a shock and disappointment to the FO? Clownshow? Illusionists?

Millions of ABD’s are joyously celebrating! Dallas is doomed!

Time to focus on MLB, NCAA Football, hunting, fishing, racing, movies, NBA in October, and porn!

Anyone with a mock draft? Cowboys 2023!
Fantasy football eases the pain.

what a disaster. what makes its worse is we all knew about Tyron and FO ignored to do something about it. Dak is not playing all 17 games…. he’s gonna get destroyed

And, if they're not careful, there's a possibility that Dak could end up with a very bad injury with how little protection he's likely going to get.

I say shake it all up. Move Martin to LT, move Tyler Smith to RT. Sign vets to fill out the middle
