How do you play that many snaps and not at least get one tackle? Very disappointing.

Yeah, totally. Run around like a clueless lunatic until your boss asks you to leave and you will be stunned by what happens Sunday. Trust me, have I ever lead you astray?

well there was that one time....at bandcamp....

He appears to be in the backfield quite a bit but unable to finish the play. The QB is usually able to sidestep his pressure and there's no one else around to make the play on the QB. When Hardy and Gregory return, the hope is this will all change. Each player will help the other finish plays.

I agree with this. Just based on what I see, he's definitely getting in the backfield, at least in the first half for sure. I think the defense has gotten worn down in the 2nd half so none of them are producing to the same level after halftime.

The way our system is designed it's extremely difficult for an offense to commit a double team to the 3T. If they did, the rush end would be unblocked or tasked with being singled with a TE. He's not being double teamed consistently, he just not beating the guard in front of him. We cannot have that for this scheme to work.

I think he's getting penetration, but it's pretty easy for any QB not named Weeden to sidestep one DT if there is room all around

3 games played, 136 snaps, 0 tackles, 0 sacks, 0 passes defended.

For the guy who is playing the vaunted 3-technique, the position that is set up most to thrive in this scheme, this is simply unacceptable.

He had a sack in the first game and has been disruptive at times in others. He was getting into the backfield early against the Saints, but I'd have to go back and see if they changed up their protection to try to stop him.

I agree that we need to see more from him, but the stats don't tell us everything.

Buts stats in the box score is all that matters
QB pressures mean nothing because they don't show up on the stat line
I thought we all knew that
its every bit as DUMB to ignore stats all together as well. Those that know Football know that at least. And anyone believing PFF is a fool. AND hurries are a very subjective stat. What is a hurry to one QB is not to another.

He's a good solid player... But I think we made a big mistake giving him 9 mill a year.

This is not a 9 mill a year player we've seen so far.

I still think it's crazy we gave this guy 9 million a year when he was making 687,000. I thought we made the right decision on Murray at the time but I also didn't know they were going to give this guy that kind of money. I wish now we would have given this money to Murray. Oh well.

I think Crawford's play will improve when Hardy lines up next to him.

Mincey is the guy I am disappointed in from the Saints game. Even when playing against a one-legged LT he was unable to make an impact.

So, are we going to accept the PFF rankings as gospel, or cherry pick things from that website that are positive about the Cowboys?
Swear I see bashing of their rankings as hacks more times than not on this site. Mostly, when they have a Cowboy player graded negatively

Their rankings are crap because they use some complicated formula; however, they are accurate on simple stats like pressures.

Crawford has been getting pressure, but as someone indicated above, the QBs are able to side step him because the surround players are not getting enough pressure.

The other issue is that in the 1st two game those teams get the ball out in about 2 seconds. The average is over 3 seconds. Very few sacks are made in less than 2 seconds.

In the Atlanta game they were short handed on the DL with Mincey out and having to use 3 players, 2 that have since been cut and 1 that is just not ready. They even used the LBs Wilber and Wilson (6', 240) at DE in that game.

In the Saints game LB Wilber played significant snaps at DE. Also, it appeared that Crawford had an injury in that game because I saw them check his leg a couple of times on the sideline.

Not a fan of pff but I do watch the games and I do see Crawford in the backfield impacting plays

It's hard to be productive when you're being double teamed and the QB can just sidestep your pass rush.

I know right?

It's a miracle that Hatcher managed 11 sacks as a 4-3 DT playing for Marinelli in 2013 when Spencer missed the entire season at one DE position and Ware was in and out of the lineup all season with injuries at the other DE position.

Just image how many sacks he would have had if he hadn't been double teamed and QBs weren't side-stepping his rush.

20? 25?

Not saying this necessarily excuses T. Crawford's lack of production, but we should see definite improvement from him once Hardy and Gregory are back into the mix.

Yeah. You're right. Crawford is a bust. We should cut him.
