Threads that start off with Hyperbole tick me off.

So There.

Sometimes hyperbole is hard to detect on the web ... it gets missed in my posts all the time ... just saying.
Good morning .... it's Saints Feast weekend:starspin:

Only Cameron wake is a more efficient pass rusher for all 4-3 DEs with more than 50% of snaps played.

Maybe it's this I read. Couldn't find the source.

Either way the guy is clearly playing well for us. To insinuate that he is a problem in anyway is silly.

Unfortunately he's a good supporting actor thrust into a lead role.

I got jumped on this site this summer when everyone on here was talking Crawford up and expecting him to be great. I didn't under why people thought he would be great. He has never done anything in the nfl, never. Some people just like to have false hope in players

I think Crawford is playing just lik I thought he would. Just another guy. Nothing great but nothing terrible.

Some people here saw him play and thought he'd make a decent SDE and a slightly better 3. I don't think anyone thought he'd be great just a steady player capable of getting some pressure and a few sacks. And that is what you are seeing. If you give him more support then you will see everyone's sack total creep up some. These guys are capable of giving you 30-35 sacks a season which ain't great but is ok.

Now people are whining because of how they perceive a player's attitude based on short interview clips? Give me a break, this thread is nonsense.

This is why most players and coaches give such bland responses to questions. People try to parse every word and statement to cause controversy.

I disagree. Crawford never showed me anything more than a JAG. Just a good rotational player. Now with Melton still nursing an injury I doubt we get 30 sacks.

If Melton continues thus injury all year we do not need to pick up his option and let him walk and save the cash.

Hopefully crawford will prove me wrong. Hope he does but people were putting him up alot higher than he ever proved to be. Especially coming off a missed year from a torn Achilles.

I like the potentials in Crawford. That's a different subject than his mission in the Dallas 4-3 defense as things are still changing towards a more consistent picture of direction.

Look guys, the current status of the Cowboys defense still has to be met, in the changing environment of the NFC East. Washington has a tough defense, and both the Giants and Eagles are solid offenses right here and now.

One goes to war with those who are in your unit, here and now...and Crawford still has to help meet the mission and needs of the Cowboys today. If he is needed at a defensive tackle position, that is what is needed. Same with a linebacker positional group, that has to have flexability to meet injury needs as well. That what happens in a roster with limited slots. One has to adapt...sorry, but Crawford just has to suck up the needs of his team.

In a perfect world, there would be no demands but what is most supportive to each and every player. That just isn't the real world in the NFL. A new millionaire just doesn't receive a fan's pass for not meeting the needs of his team.

If one wants to improve his job resume, he still does it with bodies strewn about...not by talking down concerning team needs and what he has to do to meet just those. Straight up.

Many spend hours on end complaining about their targets of choice. But with this kid, we all want the best...but a player still has to make it past failure points, whether that is injury or learning experiences. But in the final point of change, he has to football up...not talk up.

Watch his interviews from TC to now. All of them he seems frustrated and unhappy about how he's being moved around. Haven't seen a positive attitude or a impact play yet. I get that it's frustrating to have to go up and down in weight, but maybe if you made some plays they would keep you in a spot. Stop whimpering and sighing Crawford, you've done nothing on the field that warrants being frustrated with the coaches.

I don't see any problem with his attitude. I just think he wasn't really ready to be doing an interview at that moment.

The weight issue is just a fact that he was giving to the interviewers.

Tyrone Crawford, DLE: +3.7

Breakdown: After an outstanding outing as a pass rusher against the Titans (+4.3, one hit and five hurries) Crawford put in a more complete performance against the Rams. He had a hit and three hurries on just 25 hurries dominating Davin Joseph on stunts in particular. Crawford also recorded the best run defense grade (+2.1) making a pair of stops along the way. Cap problems have forced a reshuffle on the Cowboys’ line and they need their drafted players to take up the mantle.

Signature Stat: Crawford is currently second in pass rush productivity behind Cameron Wake. His three hits and eight hurries (13.8 PRP) leave him only eighth overall in terms of total pressure but he’s done his damage on just 60 snaps.

I wish people would stop just looking at sacks.

He was drafted to be a 3-4 DE. People claimed the guy was a passrusher. But sacks in the mountain west dont say much at all. He shouldve never been put at DE in the 4-3. The guy is very strong and can hold his ground against the run. He shouldve been the 1tech IMO. his rookie yr he was about 295-298 i think it was. He doesnt move his feet or use his hands to be a 3tech IMO. He just basically stands there and holds his ground.

I think Crawford has gotten some pressure just hasn't translated to sacks.

Crawford had a good game against TEN but the team had minimal pass rush against SF/STL. Davis sure didn't seem too effected when "hurried" (isn't that the point of the stat?).

Where are these hurries that they speak of?

Crawford definitely has the strength to push the pocket, just need more edge rushers (RE) to clean up.

I don't know you'd have to ask PFF, maybe they have an agenda.

I'm not a scout but I've thought he's been our best DL, yeah probably isn't saying much, but it appears at least PFF agrees with me.

John Lennon said, "I'm an artist, and if you give me a tuba, I'll bring you something out of it." It shouldn't matter where Crawford is. If he were a playmaker, he would produce. He isn't a playmaker. He is a journeyman in this league.
