I don't see it as an implosion, probably more of a bullet dodged in the vein of the Paxton Lynch no trade. Gregory has never been reliable and to pay him 13 million a year for a couple good games just felt like the wrong call.

This was my first thought too. But according to reports it was contract language Dallas wanted. My guess, and this is purely a guess, is Dallas wanted him to give back some money if he got suspended again. If so I don't blame either side. Dallas stuck with Gregory's antics for years so they are entitled to get back any bonus money if he relapses on them. At the same time, Gregory had the offer from the Broncos without the clawback clause. Why wouldn't he take that deal? Again, I am guessing here though.

But if Gregory took Denver over Dallas because of legal weed in CO, then the Cowboys dodged a bullet.

I do think this is a backstabbing action by Gregory. The Cowboys were more than good to him.

This is why NE comes in as a top organization, they're adding and dumping good players non-stop. The Boys pampered this dude for HOW MANY YEARS and this is what they got for their troubles. Gregory jumped ship taking pretty much the same deal the Cowboys were offering, now that's a fricking shot to the gut AND a double slap up against the back of the head. Gregory's true colors were on display when the dude kept getting suspended, after the first suspension the Boys should have walked away from the selfish pothead, but no they treated the dude like FAMILY and got b@#$hed slapped for it. This should be a great life lesson for the master minds and from now on take the player business side of the game to the next level. Quit trying to be a NICE guy to the troubled or injured players and start dumping the trash of Mondays, don't wait for Friday to roll around when the whole house reeks of garbage...........

True, players are no longer suspended for smoking weed but I would stay away from players who make weed a priority in their lives.
