IMO I doubt anyone is running from the fight. There is enough animosity between the two that I could see Ronda making Cyborg come down to 135 just to piss here off. And let's be honest here. Cyborg needs the fight more than Ronda.

Maybe, but I think Ronda needs it more than Cyborg. Cyborg has been crushing opponents for a while, and also has gone out of her way to fight Muay Thai champs in their own game. She always goes out and fights the best of the best within realm of possibility.

If Ronda keeps fighting the Bethes of the UFC, Ronda will always have the "she would lose to Cyborg" asterisk against her legacy if it doesn't happen.

You can't be serious. Hey body is not even close to Cat's. Zingano doesn't carry nearly as much muscle as cyborg. Zingano is a 135 fighter and Cyborg is a 145... what do you not understand? IV ban incoming also will prevent Cyborg from getting down that low. Stop making excuses for Ronda.

The only issue with this fight is, if cyborg can make 135 without ending up in the hospital is the excuses, though power is easier to bring to lower weight classes. And if Rousey moves up to 145-150 she will be losing power moving up. too many built in excuses if either lose outside their weight class.

It really depends on how the testing is done. I would assume random but not sure. But with the way UFC has had some of its other fighters fail drug screenings leads me to believe that the fighters know how to beat the system for the most part and only the really dumb or irresponsible get caught

190 was a solid card but the throw in TUF Brazil fights drained it and made it too long.

They need to address that for future Brazil cards. TUF fights get their own card for a reason.

Rousey is a special athlete. She is a jerk. That's perfectly fine by me because her level of driven is going to produce insane amounts of tunnel-vision.
Anyone that watches her knows they are seeing something like Jordan in basketball or Gretsky in hockey.
It is truly special.

I completely applaud her even tho I like Tate more.

Cyborg may be better than Rousey but I am just not sure.
Ronda has faced every challenge and won rather easily.
I believe Cyborg wins a stand up battle but she's never faced anyone like Rousey either.

The UFC decided the weight class would be 135.
Cyborg has hemmed and hawed but never made 135.
She's stated for a couple years she would, then backed off and didn't.

Cyborg is interesting but she is NOT more battle-tested than Ronda. The best 135ers in the world are in the UFC.
She fought Baers as a Muay Thai battle and lost a decision.
MMA-wise her best wins are over Coenen who is also a Dutch muay thai fighter. And Miesha beat Coenen.
She hasn't fought in true grappling in years and Ronda is probably the best female submission fighter in the world.

American wrestling is a very different beast.
I think Cyborg can get to 135 pounds but it will take shedding muscle and she will lose strength.
If she does that she also gets her arm snapped.
That's probably why the fight hasn't happened.

The UFC for all it's superfight talk really doesn't do much of it.
Catchweight stuff is insanely rare for them.

OH and as to who needs who more that isn't even close.

Rousey is a millionaire with endorsement deals and movie offers galore.
She can retire at any point she desires and go down as the first great female UFC champ.

Cyborg is chasing her but has to beat the champ on the champ's terms to take her spot.

The UFC won't agree to a catch weight fight because they aren't going to risk losing Ronda(or Ronda losing) without a replacement.
If Cyborg can't make 135 she has no place to fight in the UFC.
DW doesn't think there are enough women at 145 to make a division.
