Ultimate Leonard Davis Sucks Thread (MERGE)

He would be fine if he'd get Columbo signed, but I doubt that since he gave Davis a large sum of money. As far as whineing, that's part of the reason this board is on here. I'm sure you've never whined before, right?

I am but one amongst a storm of whiners today. We've all whined before but this is ridiculous. Just my humbled opinion albeit a very strong one.. The oline is getting some attention and for that I am thankful to the people who make decisions that affect the Boys. Whine on...

Davis IS an improvment and Jerry got it done.

I don't see how you came to that conclusion, maybe to much Jerry coolaid.

How do you know they are the same people?

Some don't want us to overspend, some just want us to sign someone. They aren't the same people.

like i said before, GIVE THE GUY A CHANCE
there is absolutely nothing you can do about it now is there??

I would have been OVER JOYED TO GIVE THIS KIND OF MONEY TO STEINBACH. Davis has underperformed his entire professional career. And anyone think he can handle the speed rushers at tackle need to watch some games where he tried. Realisitically, no one that big can handle those really quick guys.

the one advantage Davis has over Steinbach is he is alot more physical and a better run blocker...Davis has definitely been a career underachiver but I've always thought Steinbach was a little overrated, he can definitely be overpowered....then you have to remember Cinci didnt make alot of effort to keep him either

As I have stated in many threads in the last few days about Leonard Davis....he is lazy. He plays about 2 out of every 6 plays. Unfortunatly I have had to watch this guy and hear about him on Arizona news stations throughout the season and pre-season. I have seen many Arizona sports shows breaking down film about this gu and "why the Cardinal were letting him walk."

I am pretty upset we paid big money to an OL who is sub par at best. Yes, he is big and it is perceived to be a good signing however under the surface I am scared to death about this guys habits, and motivation. I pray a new team can bring a new dawn

I ask myself this... The arm pit of the NFL (Arizona Cardianls) let this guy walk without even having a player to fill his position, we step in and pay up. I hope someone in Dallas knows something about him that I have not heard or seen. "With Davis gone, the Cardinals are in need of a left tackle. There is no heir apparent to Davis on the roster, and the club will need to fill the void in free agency or the draft."

People may try to bash me and say I don't know I haven't watched him...bullsh** I have seen many, many media breakdowns, reports and live coverage. If you want to bash come at me with stats, not just "he is good in run defense," He did not play his drafted position." I am open to hear your opinion backed with fact, not just a bashing session that some of the people on this board partake in...

My source for m quotes.

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals//articles/0216cards0217.html

We are paying him more then his 2nd pick contract in 2001..."The second overall pick in the 2001 draft, Davis has made between $35 million and $40 million from the team in six years, collecting every penny of his rookie contract."

Well today is alittle different than you're average day, given the events happening.

I know right. The board is nothing but a gigantic whineathon today. It's really lame. This is the kind of repititious crap that should be merged.

I agree with that...if he's here there's nothing we can do about it but hope for the best...maybe he will turn into a dominant player now

Davis at guard improves our offensive line.

Davis at tackle is a question mark in my opinion.

If Parcells were here this would be a no brainer so the question is can our coaches give him the kick in the butt he needs?

Incentive based contract? Something.

Why? Is it because a player or three for the first time in NFL history hasn't allowed a team to hold him hostage with a backloaded contract?

Davis IS an improvement and Jerry got it done.

Jerry haters will find something wrong with anything ..... this same clown was complaining about the o-line yesterday.

Hopefully they did that. These days, everyones after money, so the best thing to do is to make them perform to get it.

That's pretty much where my thought process was going. People shouldn't let their blind hatred for Jerrah cloud their opinions of good football moves. Davis at Guard is a very good football move. Our Oline is getting the attention it desperately needs.

the kool aid drinkers like silverbear don't want to hear it- and even deny that anyone reputable ever said such things.

No, simply because it's free agency and Dallas made their first signing.

Davis has underperformed. He's also been on a crap team with poor coaching. Me, I think he can be one of the best guards in the game -- he was very very good at G. He had problems when he moved to T.

Personally, I don't think Steinbach ever had us in his sights. He's a midwest guy and like many players, he wants to play relatively close to home.

Me, I like the move if we use Davis at RG. We likely will go cheap at RT (Columbo at 3.5 mill-ish would be cheap, McQuistan would be even cheaper) and that offsets the fact that we are paying Davis so much.

What a shock, another Anti Davis thread.

MERGE!!!!!!

Rack;1404624 said:
Not so sure Davis improves our team. Especially if he ends up at RT.

I don't really care about the money part... just want the money to go to a good player. Why didn't we just sign Steinbach or Dielman to the same amount of money?

I liked Steinbach to, but the player has to want to come here too. Davis will play RG and be an improvement over Rivera
