Everyone asking what would Parcells have done if he was still the HC, (as if that matters given his hit and miss record), I'm sure Jerry is using some of the Al Davis/Bill Parcells thinking that Parcells expressed many times while he was our HC and that is..."There aren't that many human beings on the planet that are that big and have that kind of athletic ability and it never hurts to take a good long look at a guy drafted high when he came out because obviously a lot of teams thought he was a very good player to go that high."

I'm not saying I necessarily agree with that line of thinking but it was a thought process Parcells expressed many times while he was in Dallas.

Hey if we dont get Colombo re-signed, looks like the Cheifs are letting Jordan Black go, not sure if hes THAT good but Cheifs had a pretty good running game last year...

McIntosh signed a six-year deal with Kansas City on Saturday afternoon. This likely means the Chiefs will let free agent Jordan Black move on.

The Davis signing is a classic example of overpaying because of market value. What has he proven since being drafted number two in the 2001 draft?
But you are also talking about the team that let Jay Novacek walk away free and clear. That didn't turn out so well for them either did it?

in all fairness, Plan B wasnt the same sort of free agency

and with that said, nobody was really coming out of their chairs the day they found out we got Novecek...in fact most people were more excited about the other Cardinals TE we had just acquired, Rob Awalt

Novecek turned out to be one of those great finds we can thank our GM for. Who was that again? Oh yea, Jerry Jones.

My biggest question about Davis is, "Would Parcells have brought this guy in?"

If the answer is "no" is that really a bad thing, since Parcells was 2 games over 500 with zero playoff wins in his 4 years?

and Parcells took Jacob Rogers, Stephen Peterman, and Al Johnson high in the drafts he was here....so what would make him the expert on O-Linemen?

This logic has an oxymoronic feel to it: if a player gets market value, he is by definition not overpaid. If only folks on the board could get this.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't be concerned. We don't know how much Davis deserves and there are legitimate concerns about his resume and attitude.

This is a guy who didn't play hard every snap for the Cardinals' guys. That's been documented. I bleed silver and blue. So do all you: but we're not getting paid MAD cash like he is. I just worry who is going to light a fire under this guy's butt. I don't want a bunch of naysayers telling me he's the second coming either, because he's been pretty average to this point. Just answer my simple question: Who will motivate him? (I'm not trying to start anything, as I desperately want this to work, but I just have a sick feeling that Jerrah got played by Davis' agent and/or the midget in DC) Thoughts?

who HAS played hard for the cardinals?

you guys need to lose the pacifiers. you are such babies.

he hasn't even played a down yet and already doooooooooooooooommmmzzzzz.

pathetic.

Honesty would you have given your all for the mighty arizona cardinals? It has to be tough to play your heart out knowing that you still have minimal talent around you.

lazy..........takes plays off............doesn't have a mean streak.........etc.

Are you guys talking about Davis or Flozell Adams? Because it sounds exactly like you're talking about our starting LT who has never lived up to his ability.

Funny thing is that he's still a solid pro and for that reason we're happy to have him. I think Davis will do great at RG or RT, both of which are easier than LT. We didn't draft him at the top of the first round...we simply paid him the going rate to come in and start on the right side of our line, which is something he'll be very capable of doing.

Smile and enjoy the show........he's a better signee for that kind of money than either of the other 3 simply because he CAN play G or T. I also like his youth. None of the others are pro bowl players either, and there's a reason we had our eye on Davis from day 1 rather than on one of the other guys. Trust the coaches.

Bottom Line: No way Davis will be as big a bust as Rogers, Peterman, Fabini, or Rivera, all guys brought in under Parcells.

Umm if I had to guess I would say hell no. Guards dont get these deals. good teams draft and develop guards.

Its unfortunate that we had to pay all this money and use cap space to a below average player to replace another expensive average player at right guard.

well BP has several legacies some good, some bad, but one was poor OL drafting. IE we shouldnt have been in this position.

On the contrary there's a great deal of whining going on. Visitors would think some people either are betting the mortgage and kids' college funds on who Dallas signs in FA, or that some posters own the Cowboys rather than Jones.

This ain't fantasy football.

Sure Davis is an unmotivated, underwhelming slob who is now wildly overpaid, but any player we signed would have been met with instantaneous, gushing love and praise--regardless of the merits of the case. Had the Skins signed Davis to the exact same contract, we'd be lampooning them for overspending on yet another average player. Now the joke's on us.

Wait a second. The joke's still on the 'Skins?

I can't believe we're so doomed.

I'm so depressed... :(

Another thing I can't believe is that so many people have watched so many Cardinals games, in order to have such a strong opinion on the player.

Who watches the stupid Cardinals, anyway? Or any of the NFC West? I record the shortcuts every week and I can't bring myself to watch that division.

You don't have to choose a side right now, people. You can wait and see. We aren't doomed at all. Look what a year with Tony Sparano did for Colombo.

And I really doubt there are any more than 10 people here from the Arizona area that could actually form a legitimate opinion on the player, if only because they had no other selection every sunday at 4 pm...or whatever time it is outside of the east coast. But no....800 people know that he's a lazy bum who couldn't block a lego. I wonder how they know that?

Probably the same way they know Roy sucks in coverage.

Whatever.

Lived in PHX for 9 years and this is the first year they've been televised. EVER. Even ESPN Thursday night and Sunday night games were blacked out. SO......Unless you braved the 110+ temperatures prior to the new stadium, you know nothing. Now that they have the new digs they've sold out and the games have been on TV. Oh yeah.....I've had the NFL ticket for 3 years now and they even blacked out the games locally. It totally sucked when they were in our division.
