Ultimate Leonard Davis Sucks Thread (MERGE)

Where did I say I'm not giving him a chance?

And if I want to complain (which I did NOT do) then there's nothing you can do about it now is there??

That's not saying much.

If Davis ends up our RG we'll be ok. If he's our RT then we downgraded that position and paid out the arse to do it. I don't have to "give him a chance" either. I know he sucks as a RT.

Maybe... Just depends if we can teach an old dog a new trick.

Winning wasnt a high priority in Arizona. It is here. So if hes got any love for football he'll step his game up and do what it takes to get better.

I hope we do get colombo back though.

If we could get Flo - Kosier - Gurode - Davis - Colombo then that would be one talented Oline.

Well... I still wasn't complaining. Nothing aobut that previous post was a complaint.

Are we still allowed to voice our opinions here w/o being accused of complaining?

If Davis is our RG... fine. If he's our RT we're in deep doodoo.

I agree with that. That is why we have to make Columbo our top priority, even over Joey Porter (if rumor is true that we are interested)...because Columbo is the best RT on the market right now...

lose lose either way... It's crazy man.

Yeah, the guy is not played a down for the Boyz and already he sucks!

I think change is good for people for alot of reasons...and one being that if this player always played for a loser team like the Cards, no wonder he might not be as motivated as he should be.

But, now there is a chance for him to become a good player just for the fact that he is now with a good organization that has a winning tradition....

If you hang with unmotivated people, that is who you become. You hang with winners and that is who you become. Everyone is a product of their environment...

We shall see with Davis...

Just reading the arizona board. They blame a missed block by Davis for Leinart's shoulder injury that put him out the last two games. I hope and pray we do not put him at tackle.

The Davis signing is a classic example of overpaying because of market value. What has he proven since being drafted number two in the 2001 draft?

My biggest question about Davis is, "Would Parcells have brought this guy in?"

if the answer to this question is NO......then I welcome Davis with open arms.....

Why the heck would anyone have this as their default only question?

Way to rely on the thoughts of a bitter fanbase that has not smelled winning or championships since uhmmm never.

he has proven he can be a starter in the NFL for his career, subpar or not...

he has proven he can play different positions, cause he did it when the Cards had injuries along the line.

he has proven to be a man of solid character who doesn't have a bunch of off field issues tainting him or his team.

:lmao:

Is Parcells even still here? Oh ok. So the "what if Bill had..." question falls into the WGAS category. Ok.

i can just see how it went in the huddle.......
Leinart made a comment to Davis about how UT stunk this year and that last year the Rose Bowl was a fluke....Davis just nodded and laughed.......the ball is snapped and Davis matadors the defender, allowing him to go free and completely destroy Leinart.....

if so.....that is just beautiful man...once again a UT guy is responsible for bringing pain to the USC pretty boy.....

So what? That just makes him Flozel Adams younger brother...Adams has always had a motivational problem as well and has never reached his true potential, but he's still a good lineman and gets to the probowl as an alternate.

We just upgraded our OL, and people are complaining... not necessarily you.

It's funny how selective the memories of some fans are. I remember when Parcells made re-siging Adams a priority and the message boards were smoking with hate. Lazy, fat, unmotivated? Remember. Well a few years and a couple of Pro-Bowls later no one's crying over that one. It's called coaching, kids. Find the right ones and a player is all of a sudden for real. Davis will never live up to his #2 overall status (Just as Ellis has never lived up to his #8 overall staus). I doesn't mean that he can't be serviceable and at the very least an upgrade at RG. I don't know about you, but if I have to choose between Dockeryand Davis at similar cash, it's no brainer. You take Davis.

No doubt. Jones still gets some grief for passing on Randy Moss.

But LaDainian Tomlinson?

Geeze. He'd get run out of town!

But seriously, being the guy who the Cardinals picked instead of LT can't be easy either .....

To be honest, if they had taken Tomlinson without fixing that O-line LT would be JAG right now. The Cardinals have a knack for ignoring the line and hiring/drafting superstar players only to make them pedestrian at best (especially RBs). Jones, Pittman, James, Shipp, Smith (though quickly declining) all backs that would be/have been very solid backs every where but Arizona. If they take LT instead he wouldn't be LT today he'd be that kid that flopped out in AZ.

Judging from the numbers we could have gotten Steinbach for the same amount.

Sure Davis is an unmotivated, underwhelming slob who is now wildly overpaid, but any player we signed would have been met with instantaneous, gushing love and praise--regardless of the merits of the case. Had the Skins signed Davis to the exact same contract, we'd be lampooning them for overspending on yet another average player. Now the joke's on us.

Had we signed Steinbach, considered by anyone with a brain the best guard available, the reaction would have been much different.

What's the difference? I'm seeing oodles of pro-Davis love regardless.
