The ref was still at the 50.I blame Dak he knows that the ref needs to touch the ball first not the centre....that last play is on him..

The ref was still at the 50.
What are you talking about?
Where Biadasz originally set the ball to where the ref spotted it was was at least 1 to 1.5’ difference.
AND, I would add the ref actually allowed the Cowboys a very favorable spot. Look at where Dak’s knee is at apx. the 26-yard line.
Remember, when you slide feet first you are giving up on the play. You do not need to be touched down. It’s where your knee goes down first and where the ball is when it does.
Biadasz tried spotting the ball at the 23.5 yard line. The ref tried putting it at the 24.5 yard line but was pushed out the way under Biadasz and he let it go at about the 24 yard line.
Was that the same official who was standing over the ball until the play clock got to about 2 seconds, causing us to get a delay of game penalty earlier in the game?I know there’s a zillion threads about this, but I haven’t seen this posted.
I was in section C312 and I had a perfect view of the final seconds. My friend, seated next to me, was recording those last sections on his cell phone.
Yeah, it probably wasn’t the best play call but what I can tell you is that there was plenty of time still on the clock when Dak slid. He didn’t do anything wrong with the ball. There’s one referee who is charged with placing it.
Now you can call this conspiratal, you can say that this particular referee was daydreaming or maybe he just never expected a QB draw, but he was 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage when the play started and he stayed there until the moment that Dak slid.
Then, and only then, did he start sprinting toward the line to spot the ball. I watched this with my own eyes. No matter what Dak did with the ball or who he handed it to, there was a snowball’s chance in inferno that his referee was going to get there in time. None.
So go ahead and blame Kellen Moore. And trust me, I’m not one to say the fix was in. But the game was a comedy of errors by the officials and that ball should have been spotted with enough time for one more play call.
Remember one more thing:
There were controversial outcomes in the games against both the Raiders and Cardinals. If Dallas wins one of those games, they were playing Philly yesterday. If they win both, they had a bye week.
I get it - play well enough that the outcome can’t come down to a play decided by the referees. OK. But we were robbed yesterday, pure and simple.
Flame away.
Romo was calling Dak out a lot yesterday. The throw you’re talking about was actually fine. But whatever you say.Romo also said Dak was a smart and accurate QB. Romo has to say certain things he doesn't believe. Just like any announcer. Watch the play again and you will see how bad the throw was. It was not a long pass.
we have different definition of fine.Romo was calling Dak out a lot yesterday. The throw you’re talking about was actually fine. But whatever you say.
One shot from the 25 is very little difference than one shot from the 50We would have still been on the 25 yard line. People seem to think it would have been a gimme from the 1 yard line! Amazing the spin coming out of the Cowboys can flip the narrative to blaming the officials for their own failings during the prior 59 minutes.
ExactlyThis is why people make fun of Cowboys fans, because they assume we all think as silly as this.
No, we were not robbed. One, that ignores the reality that the team played terribly for 59 minutes of that game. But it also ignores the reality that even if we can stop the clock after the Dak run (which was a ********* stupid play call), the odds of us then getting a TD on that last play from like the 24 yard line is extremely unlikely.
So no, we were't robbed. We robbed ourselves.
Thank you for posting this. This fantasy land spin machine is starting to kick into high gear. What are you talking about?

We didn’t lose because of that. No offense to you but I’m over our coach and players blaming refs for loss.
You don't get to spot the ball wherever you want AS A PLAYER just because you've let the clock run down. Did you even look at the photo he posted? So tell me how that ref determined that was spot the ball should have been placed from where he was running from?
‘Generous’ spot makes no difference when you require a Hail Mary on one last play. The issue of time, meaning that re-setting the ball positioning, was the difference. There is no generous spot in this. It was a ref who ran from like 20 yards away and whose view was blocked off by all the linemen that ‘determined’ that 12 extra inches was the right position of the ball.
How exactly he determine that, in that context, right after colliding with Dak and tripping over feet, with no ref discussion, one can only wonder..

1. That’s basically avoiding the issue. Tell me how on earth the ref determined the spotting of the ball, first by moving it backwards than forward, considering he was about 25 yards from the play and a bunch of OL and other players were blocking his view?
2. Saying they spotted it “wherever they want” makes it seem like they are trying yo get extra yardage. That’s not even what is close to what happened and thus was about the TIME aspect of the game, not 6-12 inches.
2. Again, it actually happens all the time, where a player places the ball on the ground, the offense SBs defense line up and the ref touches the ball to allow the sampling of the ball, meaning there is precedence within the league with players ‘sporting the ball’ and the ref just comes and touches it. As @DOUBLE WING clearly demonstrates in another post with the following GIF:
The ref accepts the spot of the WR and simply touches the ball to begin the snap.
Facts are, the ref completely botched the play. It doesn’t mean Dallas deserved to win, because they got thoroughly outplayed and JG decided to make it seem closer than it was by gifting a horrible INT, kS ran a stupid formation for a couple of inches on fourth down that increased the chances of an illegal motion and would have basically ended the game, and Sf basically gave up 40 yards to the Cowboys on this last drive, on three passes by the sideline, when Dallas had no timeouts and a simple cover 2 and tackle in-between the hashes would have basically ended the game within Dallas territory
You are ignoring a whole lot of inconvenient facts. What is the very short version of your point - that the ref should have been in a better position?
That's not helping. Let's try this: what exactly do you think the ref should have done differently?I was ignoring the facts? Or you were?
The ref basically ran into the QB and Center, and then reshuffled the ball positioning, totally ruining the fact Dallas was about to get the ball off for the last play..
Even with the collision, if he didn’t reshuffle the ball, they still would have gotten the play off..
We shouldn't have been in a POSITION where we had to leave it in the hands of the refs.
