it amazes how much spin exists around here...as if we did not see what we just saw...as if Terrance Newman was the reason for Denver doing WHATEVER they wanted to do last night....but you just keep spinning away...just keep ignoring what happened the 2nd time through the division...just keep ignoring what happend at the end of the 1st half against the Giants....we are not sneaking up on anybody this year.....we are playing a 1st place schedule...we are on Hard Knocks....if this defense does not set the tone for this team....we will not get it done

did not say there is one way to skin a cat....but this organization has made it's bed on defense....that is where our depth is...we have 1st rounders not even starting....we can can overcome injuries almost anywhere on defense....we lose TO and we are done....we lose Witten and we are in trouble....we lose Romo and it's get ready for next year....we lose BArber and we are turning to rookies....we lose Adams and we are turning to guys that have never started a NFL game....this team is built for the defense to dominate...and it is time they start doing it...if they don't, the results will be no different than it has been

what about the moves this organization has made does not suggest that it expects this defense to be dominant? where to we spend our 1st roudn picks? what is the background of all the head coaches jerry has hired? I tell you what, if this defense does not play better against the upper echelon teams.....this entire defensive staff will be thrown out the door.

The only reason why we have all of those #1 pix on d. We can't draft and develop talent on a consistant basis from any other round. I'm willing to bet this team has more #1 pix on defense than any other team in the history of the nfl. Oh yea its never a good idea to point out the faults of the cowboys on a cowboys website. Gets very defensive as u can see but hey at least u won't be crying about jessica this winter.

bb it's like this, yes this team has invested a lot into its defense. But it's also invested a ton of resources into the offense and the special teams.

This isn't a "one-trick pony" type of team.

The Raven's type of defense comes around once every couple decades and to expect this defense to perform at a similar level is very unrealistic. You've set yourself up to be disappointed with this team because there is virtually no way that the defense will perform to the Raven's level.

And you give the offense no credit for being Superbowl capable.

Yes, the Giants and Ravens won on defense, but the Rams and Colts won based on their offenses. And the Pats have been very balanced.

I guess my frustration builds when I see the newest and oldest and one of the lowest paid guys on defense making the most plays.....i get frustrated when I see him in the film room, in the playbook, get stretched by his own personal massage therapist....i get frustrated when he approaches the game the way he is supposed to...and it seems like too many other cats on this defense only show uninterrupted diligence when it is time to get paid.....the majority of these guys on defense have gotten their financial security...and the ones that have not expect to....so yes, I expect them to play to there paycheck...what is wrong with expecting that? Don't you think Jerry is expecting that?

We've only been at this for 3 weeks now. We're missing guys, and we're just a vanilla team right now scheme wise.

it's not that...I just get tired of us making these claims after we get out butt beat...if we don't feeling playing then send the scrubs out there, get it over with, get on the plane and go home. This was the same crap we spewed last year against the Commanders after they stomped a mudhole in us. We are not a old veteran team. We have not won squat in 12+ years. If we cannot handle the intensity other teams are going to bring because of the 13 pro bowls, hard knocks, new stadium etc.....then jerry has hithced his wagon to the wrong guys. that is what is bothering me. did our offense do what we wanted to against there defense? was any other pre-season game this weekend that lopsided after 20+ mins? This is the NFL. This ain't the MLB with 162 games...or the NBA with 82 games. We are not good enough or deep enough on offense to just bring it when we feel like it. And I am not panicing...but this bitter taste they all talk about from last year....that should create an attitude that I do not see right now. We cannot push the fast forward button on the season to week 16. Every team is going to want to get there cut at the big bad cowboys, with all the pro bowlers, with the hard knock cameras. And I hope we get our mind right before it is too late.

After being home for a week and not in a training camp setting I think this team will start to focus. they have two more quarters to get a little bit of momentum, I think we will see them play with more energy and more want to at home friday.

If they come out flat and lazy on friday and the texans put up a bunch of points then there maybe an inkling of concern. however If you really look at last night, they got a bad call on the offense that stopped a drive and then the defense actually did stop them on the second drive but that asinine call on james kept the drive going.

Anthony henry had an INT pulled out of his hand by eddie royal, great play by royal. 9 times out of 10 that is picked or incomplete.

I really think it was frustrating to watch, but in the grand scheme of things there was nothing I saw that made me feel like this team has issues or will not play good defense.

the last 13 years have nothing to do with this roster, that is a media talking point. the last two years do. they are valid.

Nobody can touch us? I dont know where that is coming from, no one expects that. In this division a 10 or 11 win season will be a great one, so be prepared for a few losses, maybe even a lopsided one or two. With the quality of defenses and quarterbacks we face this year, we are not going to be 13-3.

Keep things in perspective.
