I like Guyton Beebe plus Bass and some of the depth but need to replace Steele I’m sorry I know he’s already gotten his money and Jerry wants to keep him in 25 . Asim Richards should start at RT see if line play improves .

What was done for the 24 draft on the OL needs to occur in the 25 draft on the DL , multiple picks for DT & Edge .

Last but not least I’m sorry the RB room needs an early pick next April ( round 3 ) you can’t go another year paying 60 million at QB as he hands off to an UDFA or a 30 yr old running back with no HR capabilities .

The failures by our FO to address the RB position as was so necessary will haunt this team until the season is over. It was poor management by a FO that has no feel for the needs of this team. Nor are they even capable of spending wisely -- that's a losing proposition, right from the start. Giving in to Dak and his agent will curse them for years to come. It's a shame we're stuck with the Jones boys. They're a sorry pair of execs and won't admit it.

I don’t know what happened to the strong safety help. It was good last season. The defense is in a shambles. I know there’s injuries we keep getting rid of our defensive tackles and I don’t know why.
Our D tackles just haven't panned out. I guess i can give Mazi till the end of the season before declaring him a bust .

I've been waiting for just signs of progress but not seeing it yet.

If you watched the Jets game you saw DT Quinnen Williams who's a game wrecker.

Chris Jones, Aaron Donald, Wilfork, Sapp, Suh, etc etc....these DTs get teams to SBs and we haven't had one here since the 90s with Maryland and Lett .

The FO hasn't considered it an area of need here for a quarter century

Until we get a better gm, culture around the franchise, and coaches across the board, we will still lose

So no fixing the trenches won’t fix anything

Hate to burst the OP's agenda that Dak simply isn't being given a chance to succeed....but....one of the most telling stats is "Time To Throw" in the Pocket

Dak has on average 2.4 seconds of clean pocket time to deliver the ball. That ranks 14th best out of 32 teams.... so 3 spots better than the average.

On an unrelated topic, CJ Stroud's time in the pocket is substantially shorter than Dak's.

The battle in the trenches has been our undoing for many years in big games.
There were three/four consecutive years when the Cowboys had one of the best offensive line in football. They still couldn’t win it all. Why?
Someone kept throwing critical INT in the playoff.

There are mysteries and no secret codes needing to be deciphered here. This team is getting beat at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Our running backs are averaging less than 2 yards before contact. Our QB is getting maybe two seconds to throw the ball and is getting pressured on over 25% of his throws. The offense can't function like that I don't care who you have at the skill positions. We all knew this line would have some struggles to start because of two rookies starting. But none of us saw Zack Martin getting thrown to the ground on the regular and Steele being a shell of himself coming. This can better and it needs to .. and soon. Whatever they are working on in practice is not working so they need to change it up. I thought Solari could fix it and I thought McCarthy "got it" when it came to running the ball at least in the red zone. I was wrong on both counts. At least I have been so far.
After 2023, and observing that Solari scheme, i never grew confident that " Sorry " Solari could fix that run game, and it rolled over to the problems that exist in 2024 with two rookie OL guys and a declining future HOF with bad back -and a post ACL vet who clearly is on the decline himself.

The OL unit has it's physical performance issues but Solari incompetence certainly compounds the problems.

The front office further adds to the issues with the failure to upgrade the RB position. slow lumbering Zeke Elliott ? ... A Dalvin Cook that they rather have on a practice squad rather than on active roster ? .. if not for the mysterious illness supposedly with Rico, Dalvin would still be on PS.

Yes the Derrick Henry debacle was an utter failure of a signing by the FO, still looms big, although with this super sorry McCarthy offense and Solari scheme. i don't see how Henry would have helped us .. the coaching system is still bad .
But don't think i'd like Henry for the next HC to come here in 2025 ( Ben Johnson ?)

The defense was crap those years, we couldn’t stop anyone. As for critical INTs in the playoffs, Romo had one against the Giants with the game on the line in 2007. Dak had INTs in the playoffs against SF both times. Our defense was crap in one of those games. If you want to argue about Dak find someone else.

I agree with OP.

Going one step further...Dallas needs way better play calling from offense and defense IN THE PLAYOFFS.

Blaming individual players is played out in regards to this ball club and its issues.

I consider anyone who actually believes Dak sucks and wants to go day after day arguing about him a mental midget. He’s going to be here for at least the next four years, no matter how much you hate it. There isn’t anything you can do about it so might as well deal with it.
