Once again, I don't understand all the criticism of Roy Williams. I mean, the guy made the Pro Bowl, thus one of the best safeties in the league.

Sorry mods, I tried not to type it, but couldn't stop myself.

ok but this was probably when you were in highschool(?) were talking about a 6 year proQuanTran;1904469 said:Don't worry guys. Roy is changing to number 38 next year. We have reason to believe again......
I once change my number from 3 to 10 and already I felt a difference. I think I felt faster then before, more confident, stronger, and smarter. Well, the new guy got my number and 10 was the only number left...
My coach even said I was a big mac away from a free safety. Or was that a big mac away from a heart attack?
Watching Roy try to play safety is a lot like watching Emmitt try to talk.YoMick;1903063 said:I always liked Roy... never bashed him on here... I may have called him on a few plays and his horsecollar.... but... he just needs to retire.
All I see is him falling down.... missing tackles.... it almost looks like a woman out there trying to play with these guys.
Its getting hard to watch him.
Draft a hard hitting safety that can wrap up in the first round. Atleast then we have someone that can help stop the run.
"Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio?
A nation turns its lonely eyes to you (Woo woo woo).
What's that you say, Mrs. Robinson?
"Joltin' Joe has left and gone away" (Hey hey hey, hey hey hey)."
Just replace Joe DiMaggio with Roy Williams.
Just say no to Marcus Griffin.jdub2k4;1903638 said:The problem with Roy is that he is trying too hard to not mess up. It's just like a boxer that is thinking too much, trying not to get knocked out instead of just following his instincts and as a result....ends up getting knocked the luck out.
The coaching staff knows this, which is why they made an effort to "dumb it down" for Roy. But because the other teams gameplan to isolate him anyway, that doesn't work. He is simply lost out there. As a fan of humanity, I hope Roy can get it together. But as a fan of this team, I hope he gets it together somewhere else, because we cannot continue to win with him as a liability and teams gameplanning to exploit him on a weekly basis.
Side note: You've gotta love his failed attempt for an Int when he dove awkardly to intercept the ball before the ball had even made it into reasonable interception range and the ball ended up falling about 5 yards ahead. when I saw that, I just chuckled to myself and said, "theres our pro-bowl SS."
BTW, I said I would be back to talk draft, so here are players that I think could replace Roy at ranges that wouldn't break the bank.
