Nick Eatman just mocked Laporta to the Cowboys @ 26 in his final mock. That’s the kiss of death…or however you want to look at it. It’s a done deal.
Wow. With Slater's and now Eatman's recent info, looks like it's definitely TE at 26. Maybe a CB dropping like Porter or Wright(OT) will make them reconsider...

Slater, Eatman and Broaddus all have the same source of information...each other...

Has Eatman ever been correct?
Who knows what actually will happen tonight but his "info" is likely coming from Stephen or someone very close to him. Eatman is not just throwing a random name against the wall he heard some draft guy mock to the Cowboys....

Laporte had no quarterback at Iowa. He is a good player. If the Cowboys really want a top tight end they will probably have to overdraft one. Remember the Cowboys draft at the end of every round.

Cowboys aren’t the smoke screening bunch.

McShay and Daniel Jeremiah both having us Musgrave.

They heard something.
Musgrave and Laporte are the type of prospects you have been screaming about.

Would love LaPorta, but not at 26. Based on all of the recent mocks it seems most teams have Mayer as TE1. Kinda believe the reports that we're his floor but he does not last to 26 in any of these mock drafts anymore. It seems most experts think we'd then go Kinkaid, but he often doesn't it make it that far either. Clearly there's PALPABLE buzz around TE with Musgrave/LaPorta showing up as an option for us now.

Personally, give me LaPorta over Musgrave if it comes to that. He just seems like the more complete TE type that we seem to be looking for. If you really want to go TE with your first pick though, and you're choosing between one of those 2 at 26, please for the love of god at least trade back a bit to do it.

This is 2021, does this look like a 1st rd TE to you? Think I got the stat wrong, more drops than TD's in HIS entire career.

Case of just falling in love with the potential given "measureables".

I think the main concern is we have this media originated perspective of LaPorta being a strict second round guy when no one brought up the prospect of him being a first rounder this cycle. When I first read this, I immediately went woof. But now, I'm looking at my draft board and I see I have him as my second rated TE with a second round grade. Mayer had better film, but has subpar testing numbers. Washington may only be a blocking TE and I don't believe that constitutes a first round value. I don't really vibe with Musgrave. Hell, I'll be fair and mention Kincaid's injuries are a major concern.

So honestly, I can't get mad about taking a second round graded player late in the first round at a position of need, because that literally happens every year. The only thing I will say is it feels like more of a trade down situation, but that requires someone to be willing to trade up with you.

I saw a rumor about Washington getting medical red flagged by teams. Has anyone else heard that and know if there is any truth to it? This source was claiming many teams had already removed him from their board completely.
