how is that consistent with being remorseful and saying you didn't intend for it to go that way?

It helps to know how to read. Since the father didn't say that I'm guessing it has nothing to do with his remorse.

Nice job though.

And as for his remorse that father is a better person than I would be then because I wouldn't feel any remorse or sorry in any way for killing that pedophile POS.

Some people deserve mercy, remorse, forgiveness, etc. Pedophiles don't deserve any of those things.

That is great. Poor man can go on and try to live a normal life.

Yup, my guess is that it won't be very easy to for a while though. I feel bad for him. The combination of witnessing what he witnessed as well as killing a man will be tough to carry. It's most definitely changed his life forever.

I don't care how mad you were, no one wants to live with killing a man.

Glad to see it. Sure looks like the Grand Jury did the right thing in this case.
From the article:
Sheriff Micah Harmon, according to the statement, believes the girl’s father is remorseful, and did not intend to kill Flores.
He called the case "traumatizing" for the girl and her entire family.

"He was just protecting his daughter and doing what he thought he had to do to protect his daughter," Harmon said.

I hope that some sleeze bag lawyer don't talk the Flores family into filing a wrongfull death civil action against the father. It wouldn't surprise me if it happens.

LOL at some people in this thread who thought it wouldn't be like that.

The CBZ's self appointed experts are full of crap 90% of the time. They talk a good game but in reality are just little kids that have no clue how the world really works.

The thread got so silly I quit reading it. So I don't know if this has been posted or not. If it has, my apologies.

Almost a week after news of a father beating a man to death in Shiner made national headlines, the district attorney's office has released the name of the man who was allegedly caught in the act of molesting a 5-year-old child.

***** Mora Flores, 47, was working as a horse hand for the Shiner man.

Deputies found a permanent resident card on Flores at the scene of the crime, said Sheriff Micah Harmon.

****

The child's family members and father have all been very cooperative with the investigation, Harmon said.

"The physical evidence at the scene appeared to substantiate the father's account: When emergency medical personnel arrived, ***** Mora Flores' pants and underwear were down and the man's genitals were exposed," Harmon said.

****

Harmon said the father is indeed very remorseful about killing Flores, and that he did not intend to do so.

"This case has been very traumatizing on the child, her father and his entire family," Harmon said.

As somebody who works in this field, the story for the family is likely not over. The trauma experienced by the child will live on, perhaps for a long time. The trauma experienced by the father will go on as well. You don't just kill someone, regardless of the provocation and circumstances and walk away unscathed. I hope he can move on albeit with some help. As for those here who state thay would do the same as he did, I pray that you never find yourselves in that situation.

I offer no defense for the sex offender. I've interviewed my fair share of them and struggle to reconcile my personal and professional views. There's something profoundly disturbing about meeting a real tried and true peodophile. I can't recommend the experience.

Or you could take solace in the fact that this animal will ever harm another child.

I agree with this except for killing somebody and not coming away unscathed. There are millions of war veterans who killed people and came away unscathed emotionally. I suspect there are many people whom if they had done the same thing this father had did, they would not even think twice again about it.

The problem here is that the father does seem distraught about killing Flores because he simply didn't want to do it. But for some people it's no big thing if they feel they are perfectly justified in doing so.

Hopefully the town and the people who know the father's identity will support him and the daughter and let them move on with their lives.
