well Nova Scotia is kind of backward.

That's right the 30 people in the thread agreeing with me are wrong and the other 2 are right.

I noticed you avoided my question asking you what you would have done in the same situation.

I recall that incident as well when the suspect was shot by the father while they were escorting him through an airport.

Great get!

So it was only 5 years probation and no time. Good to know. I assume the guy must have confessed or was 100% for sure the culprit....the a degree that catching him in the act would not have made any more certain. Otherwise, if he was just a "near" certain suspect, killing him may have drawn at least some time.

I never answer those questions because you cannot base laws on what you might or not do personally in any given situation.

I also wouldn't necessarily take people in here agreeing with you (or you sucking up and agreeing with them) as evidence that you are correct. I could be the only person in a room full of militant muslims and be the only one to believe jews are equal to all and not the devil, they will all disagree with me, does that make them right?

I don't believe the lawmakers meant that you can stop a sexual assault, get the guy off the victim, and them pummel the guy to death but a court will decide that if it got that far. I believe you should not take the law into your own hands, that is for the courts and to a lesser extent law enforcement.

We have a system where dispassionate third parties decide these type of matters.

The thread got so silly I quit reading it. So I don't know if this has been posted or not. If it has, my apologies.

Almost a week after news of a father beating a man to death in Shiner made national headlines, the district attorney's office has released the name of the man who was allegedly caught in the act of molesting a 5-year-old child.

***** Mora Flores, 47, was working as a horse hand for the Shiner man.

Deputies found a permanent resident card on Flores at the scene of the crime, said Sheriff Micah Harmon.

****

The child's family members and father have all been very cooperative with the investigation, Harmon said.

"The physical evidence at the scene appeared to substantiate the father's account: When emergency medical personnel arrived, ***** Mora Flores' pants and underwear were down and the man's genitals were exposed," Harmon said.

****

Harmon said the father is indeed very remorseful about killing Flores, and that he did not intend to do so.

"This case has been very traumatizing on the child, her father and his entire family," Harmon said.

What's kind of lost is that aspect as well. It's easy to call the guy a vigilante and accuse him of going off base, but no normal person whats to end up killing someone and there's no joy in living with that on top of what else happened.

Being a native Texan myself, I would venture to guess that if a poll was taken, probably close to 99% of Texas fathers would have done the same thing....with the remaining 1% just having no spine to do it.

:bravo:
Exactly , Cutting off the offending organ is what I would do !

Reminds me of a joke. Which I am sure will totally offend someone.

A father caught a man having sex with his daughter. At gunpoint he marched out to the barn and had the man place his private parts in a bench vice which was then tightened to hold him in place, but not hurt him. The handle was then removed.

The father began sharpening a knife within site of the man. Fear in his voice the man said, "Your going to castrate me just like that?"

The father replied, "Don't be silly," and handed him the knife. "I'm going to set fire to the barn."

Skip the article, did we?

“He got what he deserved, big time,” Sonny Jaehne, a Shiner resident, told the Victoria Advocate.

If the law in THEIR country said that if a Jew came on your property you would have the right to kill them and you did, you wouldn't be charged.

Because it wasn't the father who said that.

So far, no arrests have been made. A grand jury will likely decide whether any charges will be brought against the father, whose identity has not been released in an attempt to protect the 4-year-old girl.

In the aftermath, nearby residents are having a hard time feeling any sympathy for the alleged child molester.

Good info.

Long story short, nothing to see here. It'll be appropriately handled.

Hope the guy thought to unwind the bench vice.
