Updated: ***Cowboys Players Official Cut List***

I hope Coale just retires. So I can attend the 2017 hall of fame inductions with a box of kleenex.

I can see his jersey in the rafters now.

Holmes has apparently impressed on special teams. He's the only receiver that has.

Rumor is the "Wall of Fame" is getting one addition this year. ;)

if it is true that McGee made this roster, I'd love for us to put in a waiver claim on Kafka and send McGee packing. I think we liked Kafka coming out of college - he was one of the few later round picks listed on our draft board that leaked

Final Cowboys cuts are in: Lance Dunbar, Jamize Olawale are out. Stephen McGee is good for now. Could change if team claims players Saturday

We're down to 53. Let's see how the roster changes over the next 48 hours.

I don't agree with this at all, although I understand the decision.

Why do people have such ill will toward Steven McGee? Do you expect him to be a starter? I would never use a fourth round pick on a quarterback. Fourth round quarterbacks never pan out. Developing a fourth-round pick into a championship qb is almost entirely an NFL myth. That's not his fault, and I doubt he's done worse than most qb's taken in that area.

Because McGee has not shown improvement over the last few years.

He still holds onto the ball too long and has no pocket awareness.

Because he sucks.

I dont have too much of a problem with him personally....just the fact of keeping a third qb on the 53 instead of another player who may contribute in the future. Pretty sure he wont with both romo and orton around

This is a business. Never personal. The fact of the matter is most people here don't feel he can help this team win games, whether it's now or in 2-3 years. From all accounts, he's a nice guy and works his tail off to improve his craft, unfortunately the results aren't translating on the field.

All that really means is instead of keeping a QB on the practice squad, Dallas is keeping one on the roster, which opens up the PS for another one of the cut players (instead of Rudy Carpenter).

So instead of keeping Olawale on the roster, we keep him on the PS. Now, obviously, if we lose one of the players everyone wanted us to keep over McGee then there will be more rue in here than was ever seen on The Golden Girls.

This is how I see it as well. Still don't agree with it.

Is it possible McGee is being used as trade bait? Jerry said teams were interested.

Possible...but if I were going to do that, I would have done the trade and not released a guy to waivers that I wanted to keep.

Maybe the FO is waiting to see if Carpenter clears so he can be placed on PS. Then goodbye to McGee. Just saying. If they got rid of McGee then Rudy didn't clear then they would have no 3rd QB that knows the system.

If there was interest, you'd have a trade already. With all the QBs hitting the street today, you'd easily find someone as "good" as McGee
