Updated: Parcells turns down Atlanta, talking to Miami...*Merge*

What connection does BP have to Garrett? Oh that's right, there is no connection.
May be a reach, but Parcells was still consulting with Jerry during the coaching search. So he may have *chatted* with Jerry about Garrett.

Or it could be a poorly worded attempt to connect any potential hires to Miami.

IF BP goes to Miami, is Darren McFadden a "Tuna-type of RB?" Would BP take him as #1 overall or trade down for multiple picks?
McFadden is too tall for Parcells.

If he goes to the Dolphins...even the haters will have to pull for him...someone finally to dethrone the Cheatriots.
By the time he rebuilds their franchise, Brady might be retired.

ESPN reports Bill Parcells will sign a four-year contract to become the Dolphins' vice president of football operations.

Owner Wayne Huizenga reportedly is no longer interested in selling the franchise, which was a big development for the Tuna. Parcells may have been using the Falcons to up his price tag with Miami or increase control. He is likely to be making final personnel decisions, so don't look for a veteran name in the GM spot. High profile coordinators with Parcells connections include Patriots OC Josh McDaniels, Cowboys OC Jason Garrett, and Falcons DC Mike Zimmer.

Don Banks:

We all know the Parcells track record. He's a serial flirter. He absolutely loves the process of being wooed. His ego needs it, even craves it. When he's on the job, he'll give you the full Parcells, a leader who's opinionated, decisive, and unafraid to fail.

But then, sure as the arrival of hiring/firing season in the NFL, he'll tire of the challenge before him, and like he has so many times before, he'll step aside to await his next wooing. By now, it's in his DNA. The man goes through NFL jobs like Larry King does marriages.

head of football operations. Dallas might have the ability to strike a deal with Miami and move up.

FINS SNARE TUNA

It's official. Veteran coach Bill Parcells has joined the Miami Dolphins on the same day that he handed Falcons owner Arthur Blank the latest setback in arguably the worst month that any NFL franchise has ever experienced.

Parcells has inked a four-year deal, and regardless of his title he'll be in charge of the football operations.

The futures of G.M. Randy Mueller and coach Cam Cameron are currently unknown. Our guess is that both will be fired, and that Parcells will hire his own G.M., and Parcells and his G.M. will hire their own coach.

It also remains to be seen whether the arrival of Parcells gives the team a late-season foot in the fanny. With a chance to derail the Pats' perfect season only days away, a rejuvenated locker room could surprise one of the various teams for whom Parcells previously worked.

I'd absolutely love to hear Bill's opinion on the Ted Ginn pick.

Uh oh.

Jason Taylor is going to be very upset. He has always been very vocal about his severe dislike for parcells.

Good chance taylor hangs em up.

and there is no way mueller stays, the guy is awful.

I thought Mueller was one of Parcells' buddies. I wonder if he doesn't keep him around and just make all the decisions for him.

could be. I have heard parcells speak pretty highly of cameron. I dont remember if mueller is one of his pals though.

Either way, no more tuna on monday nights? What is keyshawn going to do? whos leg is he going to rub under the table?

maybe if we are lucky keyshawn will go with him, he has always talked about being in a front office.

I will grab my external with the 03 season on it, I remember taylor giving a speech in the locker room after they whipped our tails and giving the game ball to coach wanstedt, in which he went on and on about the hype of parcells and how he isnt S___ and then said F him...

then in the paper the next day I think he said something along those lines! I remember when parcells and jimmy played against each other for the division lead late in the year in miami in 98 and the jets won and taylor was saying some stuff then!

when i get a chance I will search for it.

My thoughts as well. POTENTIAL trade-up partner for Jerry in the next draft? Hmmmm.....how about Miami's #1 overall & a 4th rounder for our two 1st rounders & Roy Williams? It's already begun..... :D

Meh, his tune will change in a hurry once he's working for the guy. ;)

No doubt. I'm sure if Parcells had gone to the Giants Shockey would've offered a reach-around.

Nope.

Dorsey from LSU would be the pick.
