If I am not mistaken, I believe it was stated that the Commish was waiting for the Federal Government to sentence him before he made his decision.

I think you are mistaken, because Vick was suspended prior to the start of this season, which of course would have been before he was even convicted, let alone sentenced...

Now, what you may mean-- and you may be right-- is that Goodell levied an open-ended suspension, with the ultimate duration of that sentence to be determined after Ookie completed his journey through the legal system...

Hopefully, he will straighten out his life.

I couldn't possibly care less if he does, but I will say I'll be astonished if that moron is even capable of learning anything from his assorted screwups...

Mike Vick MUST get the losers and hangers-on out of his life and that needs to happen yesterday.

He'll be quite broke when he gets out of jail, which means the losers and hangers-on will be long gone...

Not necessarily because Vick could get out in less than a year because of a loophole in the system. Mike Vick is planning on entering the prison's Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program (RDAP) - an intensive substance abuse treatment program which qualifies eligible graduates for a one year sentence reduction. It's been said that Vick has already requested to be admitted to the program.

So therefore, the story gets even better for Vick because he entered prison before his sentencing date, his release date will likely be pushed up even further. Not to mention that with credit for good behavior and the RDAP sentence reduction, Vick may even be out by the beginning of next year's NFL season.

Seems like post-padding. There's a multi-quote button for a reason.

And yours is apparently on the idiotic side...

Well, let's see-- a sadist is somebody who enjoys inflicting pain... while it's commonly meant to refer to people who enjoy hurting other people, behavioral psychiatrists have established that sadists often get their start as children by hurting small animals, generally pets... Vick's hobby was setting dogs to fight each other to the death... generally speaking, an animal that dies experiences pain...

So sadist seems to fit... next we have the word "sociopath"... that word is defined in some dictionaries as somebody who is completely unwilling or unable to behave in a way that is acceptable to society... a rich man who practices dogfighting as a hobby certainly fits that definition...

Now, we come to "piece of garbage"... well, we know that beyond the completely disgusting hobby of killing dogs, Vick also ran around having unprotected sex with women, without bothering to inform them he had herpes...

Yup, that's a piece of garbage in my book...

As for your definition of thug, most of the rest of the world defines that word as a brutal and violent criminal... well, the criminal part is no longer in dispute, he's sittin' in a jail cell for the next coupla years as a result of his criminal activity... so I guess you think that fighting dogs for fun and profit is neither violent nor brutal...

Which means they got off light, not that Vick got screwed...

Not even two years in jail is "way too much"??

Sounds like you would have been pissed if they gave him unsupervised probation...

1) My posts are long enough, without trying to combine all of my responses into one post...

2) Are you REALLY stupid enough to think I care about your opinions regarding my posting style??

3) Your post is completely irrelevant to the topic being discussed, and as such constitutes post padding its own self... before criticizing a poster for a certain behavior, it would be advisable for you to not engage in said behavior your own self...

The way it works is, I read a post, and if I have a response to it, I post that response... then I move on to the next post, and if that has something in it to which I feel like responding, I make another post... if you have a problem with that, well, it's YOUR problem... trust me when I say that your opinion is so utterly insignificant in my world that it's laughable that you thought I'd care about said opinion...

IOW, this response of yours was an exercise in mental masturbation on your part...

Seems that the difference between us here is that I include sadists who torture animals for fun and profit in that group, and you don't...

Gee, maybe it's because I think dogs are one of the best things in this world, and anybody who would abuse one of them arouses my rage... and maybe it's because there are folks out there acting like what he did is no big deal, indeed they're DEFENDING him...

You mean, like sticking up for a sadist who tortures animals for his amusement??

silverbear;1828178 said:
OK, fair enough... as I have noted, he certainly hasn't shown any genuine contrition to this point...

Which is true, but which is also wrong... and just because those sociopaths got away with murder (in one case, quite literally), it doesn't mean that it's wrong for Vick to now suffer the full consequences of his actions...
