An additional suspension would be excessive. He has been punished enough for something in my mind that was stupid.

It doesn't matter. The NFL's personal conduct policy will kick in. Automatic suspension.

I think he has done his time. People that seem to wave forgiveness as thier moral banner are also the most unforgiving. Let the guy make a living.

Ok then go play in the CFL or AFL. He can make a living there maybe not as good as in the NFL but he can make a living.

Michael Vick had every opportunity not to be imprisoned. When you're fully conscious of knowing that you're committing a federal crime, it's a no-brainer. Hopefully, he will take this new opportunity to prosper much more seriously that before he locked himself away... after Goodell's suspension, that is.

He's served his time and paid his debt to society.

I do have to say that the dog-fighting thing was the tip of the iceberg.
I mean, he was always doing something stupid. His on-field style of play reflected his life: ad lib, run for daylight, change up the play whenever his feet got antsy.

And further, I feel that any team that signs him is axing for lots of protesters at games, and I don't blame the animal lovers.

For whatever skills he still has, his downsides are many.

Sure he should have the opportunity to make a living the same way everyone who is a convicted felon makes a living.

He is a strong, physical person. He would be perfectly suited to work construction.

Most jobs ask you if you have ever been convicted of a felony and wont hire you if you have. Shouldnt the NFL have some standards?

I agree that most people on this board value K9 life over human life. Lets slap those guys who danger human life with a game or two or maybe a fine. Vick does dog fighting and its an moronic uproar about it.

So the people who are uncomfortable with a man beating animals to death, utilizing a tool called a rape stand, buying a house just to use as his own blood ring for gambling, drowning dogs, slamming their bodies into the ground until they die ect ect are "Moronic" in your eyes.

Yet you have a picture of Pacman Jones in your post?
hmmm..... who is "moronic" again?

So you support people who put no value on human life or animal life.
But the ones that find what he did disturbing are the morons? :lmao:

Well if a team wants to take a chance on him, i don’t see what’s wrong with that. Some places wont hire convicts, but a few will. How is it right to say you can’t work anywhere? If no NFL teams want him, then that speaks volumes and he should look into other avenues. I just think the guy did his time.

Nope.

Goodell strengthened the league's personal code policy on April 10, 2007 to include language should as, "It is not enough to simply avoid being found guilty of a crime," the new policy says. "Instead, as an employee of the NFL or a member club, you are held to a higher standard and expected to conduct yourself in a way that is responsible, promotes the values upon which the league is based, and is lawful.

Persons who fail to live up to this standard of conduct are guilty of conduct detrimental and subject to discipline, even where the conduct itself does not result in conviction of a crime."

The dog crap started hitting the fan for Vick on April 25, 2007 when his cousin, Davon Boddie, was busted on drug charges and gave Vick's house as his address. From there, it was downhill for Vick and after the newly strengthen personal code policy was introduced.[/I]

He's an employee of the NFL. It is the NFL which will decide his fate now, not his prison warden or empathic NFL fans. Love it. Hate it. Or fall somewhere in-between. It's all irrelevant.

I'd be willing to bet the scumbag has already paid the highest price EVER paid for the offense of dog fighting.

The NFL is playing a dangerous game if it decides to hold it's people (or scumbag in this case) to a level so much higher then society holds itself. Especially when they show no consistency what so ever.

The scumbag has served his sentence and when completely finished should be allowed to play.

Not in Dallas though!!!

:bang2: I wonder how you'd do on a "rape stand" or how well you'd handle being picked and up and thrown repeatedly onto a concrete floor.

Why?

Why are you glad to see him out? What does he do for you? Why are you glad to see a convicted felon be free to make millions of dollars he does not deserve? What do you get out of this?
Who are you to say what he deserves and what he does not? Isn't the purpose of prison to rehabilitate? How do you know he isn't a rehabilitated man? He served his time as charged. If Goodell gives him clearance to play, I have no problem seeing him do so.

Apparently, Michael Vick "forced" the male dogs to rape the female dogs to breed more dogs to fight....the sad thing is that people actually believe that.

What part of, "Vick violated the personal conduct policy which will result in an automatic suspension after the legal system is done with him", do people not get?

Whats the consensus?

Time served = thats enough, no suspension

or

Time served + one year suspension

???

I think he should lose the upcoming season

I'd be shocked if he's reinstated before 2011, if then.

I agree, he made a mistake and paid for it.
Why should the NFL be so bad that they can't forgive anybody.

I don't mean the guy his a bad person or not in any way but I don't think we have the right to stop him working if he is still good at it.

Just keep the eyes open on with he does...

I don't mean I want the boys to sign here but some here said they would prefer BJ to be back instead of Vick??? C'mon we want to win it all if you want perfect people just go to the church and even though.... you'll find worse guys than him.

What he did was stupid but it doesn't mean he is completely bad and doesn't deserve forgiveness.
