Ooooh, weed....Not that...Big deal...Nonstory

Mister, the Devil's Weed is a gateway drug to . . . to other dangerous drugs.
I don't know about you, but I just hate to step over those marijuana needles on the sidewalk and stand in line waiting for the addicted to buy their pastries at the Starbucks.
I hear that weed can make you commit hen . . . hein . . . dastardly crimes and make you play the piano really fast and the sooner we come to grips with the fact that it is a deadly drug, the sooner we can place our nation in order.
Amen.

Whether weed is bad or not is the issue.

When someone is facing sentencing for a federal felony, any criminal act--no matter how much you think it is "not a big deal"--matters.

And no matter how much people want to say weed "isn't a big deal," it is right now illegal not matter how stupid you think that is.

You people are frigging nuts if you think this hard-***, life-tenured federal judge is going to accept the argument for a minute that "its just a little weed, man."

Some people just do not get it. When you are about to be sentenced ANYTHING can make a difference. With a real hardcase like this judge is supposed to be.... Now the judge has grounds to basically toss any need to follow the recommended sentence of 18 months and be as tough as he wants to be.
Vick has gone from stupid to MORONIC.

I think, if I were Vick's lawyer - I would use the "C'mon judge - it's just a little weed, man" defense. Any self-respecting judicial authority would immediately recognize the validity of it, and they could top it off by pointing at each other and saying "Ayyyyyyyyyyyy", like the Fonz.

Pot helps with PMS? Damn! Why didn't I know that before. Been married for 27+ years and I just now hear how I can do something about my wife when she's a beyotch (like now). You know, she smoked a lot of pot before we got married but quit just prior to our wedding. I wondered why she changed so much.

One question though, is it for me or for her? :lmao2:

People dread menopause but I am looking forward to it.

Women definitely get a raw deal in a lot of ways, PMS is just one of them...Can you imagine being a slave to your hormones every month?

Not sure about weed but antidepressants are often used for PMS

The most likely scenario is that he will never see state jail time. Either the state charges will get tossed on double jeopardy grounds, or if he is convicted under state law, the appeal will tie up the case for years and by the time he gets out of the fed pen, he will already have served enough time under the state sentence and the appeal would be moot.

Thanks for that explanation, cobra! And, you used the word that I was trying to think of..."double jeopardy".

No, I get it...I realize he places himself in a precariously more dangerous position...My comments about the absurdity of the law on that issue, it's nonsense.

I'd say any sentencing that doubled time because someone smoked a doobie is pretty stupid.
If you want to put the two possible sentence lengths next to each other and try to reason cause-and-effect, maybe.

On the other hand, lack of contrition and committing another crime (possession of a controlled substance, however brief, at some point had to contribute to the positive test result) after admitting guilt to one, then getting the maximum or near the max is not so stupid.

But then, maybe Ron Mexicano is...

People, please use your head. Pre-trial services has the option many times to test a person prior to sentencing. Take that into consideration.

Seriously though, my girlfriend, she's a different person a few days out of each and every month...It's just a raw deal

Ya think?? ... Wait until your woman goes through menopause.

My heart aches for my wife, I try to do anything to help, but my effort pales in comparison as to what she is going through.

She has always been such a sweetheart to everybody she knows, she does not deserve this.

Talk about a raw deal.
