I had a quick look at the Ravens 2006 and 2007 drafts as they were one of the teams quoted. I didn't have the time to do any more. All quoted positions are from the Ravens Depth chart on their website. Any mistakes will be my bad eyesight. ;)

2007 - Baltimore Ravens
Rd Sel # Player Position School
1 29 Ben Grubbs G Auburn - starting LG
3 74 Yamon Figurs WR Kansas State - 4th team LWR
3 86 Marshal Yanda T Iowa - 2nd team RG
4 134 Antwan Barnes LB Florida International - 2nd team LOLB
4 137 Le'Ron McClain FB Alabama - starting FB
5 174 Troy Smith QB Ohio State 2nd team QB
6 207 Prescott Burgess LB Michigan - 3rd team LOLB
Jared Gaither T Maryland - starting LT

2006 - Baltimore Ravens
Rd Sel # Player Position School
1 12 Haloti Ngata DT Oregon - starting DT
2 56 Chris Chester C Oklahoma - not on the team
3 87 David Pittman DB Northwestern State-Louisiana - not on the team
4 111 Demetrius Williams WR Oregon - 2nd team RWR
4 132 P.J. Daniels RB Georgia Tech - not on the team
5 146 Dawan Landry SS Georgia Tech - starting SS
5 166 Quinn Sypniewski TE Colorado - not on the team
6 203 Sam Koch P Nebraska - starting punter
6 208 Derrick Martin CB Wyoming - 3rd team SS
7 219 Ryan LaCasse LB Syracuse - not on the team

5 busts eh?

I see a starting Pro Bowl type NT. And a starting LG. One from each draft.

Impact.

Where is the kicker for them who makes such an impact that they had to draft another kicker this season?

Much is being made of the 06 and 07 drafts but doesn't the 05 and 08 drafts cancel those out?

we're supposed to be perfect at every draft, but every team drafts better than us and our scouting crew sucks. Get with the program.

Hostile just said a kicker is the biggest impact player from the 2006 and 2007 drafts. And this is a good thing?

:laugh2:

You are being a homer.

And he goes to his 'if you played' BS.

Sorry Jim Brown. We can't all be Hall of Famers like you.

:laugh2:
I said so much more than just Nick Folk. But I'll make it easier for you since you can't read English.

Anthony Spencer is an impact player.

Miles Austin is an impact player.

Sam Hurd is an impact player.

Stephen Bowen is an impact player.

Deon Anderson is an impact player.

Doug Free is an impact player.

Jason Hatcher is an impact player.

Not my fault you don't know what impact means. It means if you went to anyone on the team and said that ________________ had no impact on the team you would probably be laughed at. It takes 53 players to make a team. It is really just that simple.

Ohh my bad.lol. Must have missed that memo.

I'm sure the Steelers and Pats have had some terrible draft classes in the past 5-6 years. That's just how it works. It sucks that we don't have alot of depth but that's what the waiver wire and FA is there for.

Why don't Hos and DC go at it like this on his radio show? It would be alot more entertaining then having to read it all.
I'd get kicked off the show forever.

:laugh2:

I don't want to do that. I have to much fun with the guy.

Personally, my favorite thing about this whole thread is the constant back tracking and point changing by Mr. Fanatic. It cracks me up, he posts a video that is all about two "bad" drafts, which is arguable to start with, but when his whole theory is blown to bits by people like Tomson and Hostile, his whole point changes to "well, we haven't won a superbowl"

Sorry Mr. Fanatic, like Hostile had to say several times, that just doesn't fly with me. Which is it? Did we have "bad" drafts, or are you just mad that we haven't won a playoff game in "172" years? Let me assure you that the two have very very little to do with each other. The Boys have drafted as well or better than just about any team in the league over the last 5 years. Go back and look at the past few New England drafts, it read like a whos who of garbage football players. They're winning playoff games consistently.

It also cracks me up that your original point had to do with those two drafts being directly responsible to our lack of depth, yet Watkins, Ball, Brown, Free, and Carpenter are all solid back ups for this team. Go back and look at lots of other teams drafts, its pretty rare that a team keeps that many draft picks from one draft even past thier first year, let alone two, or three. Thats not to mention your assessment of Spencer being so premature its mind boggling, or given all the kicker issues we've had for years, your complete regard for the impact that Folk has had.

They did huh?

And what did all these awesome drafts do for us?

Zilch. We haven't won a playoff game in 172 years.

This place is annoying because the homers are too blind to see that drafting players who can be and should and will be are players who are being and are doing.

Bunch of homers with mentality that is ok with winning nothing.

The Dallas Cowboys have drafted players. How many or the players that all of you love have one playoff win on their resume as a Dallas Cowboy?

0
Can you read that?

I would agree with you. Those look like impact players to me.

It's mutual. He's a great guy. We enjoy going at each other and we never take it personal. He just has no point on this one but is going to stick to it stubbornly.

This carries so much weight. A lot of fans have never played organized football and really are clueless when it comes to the actual game. When I read posts of fans freaking out over traing camp or depth, its clear they don't have a full concept of the game or how a team is made up. They act as if our backups will have to play games as a unit by themselves. Unbelievable!!!!!

LOL.

So now every guy sitting behind a computer who played high school and college football is more of an expert on the NFL game.

You sound like you played without a helmet since you were 11.

There are several solid players from those 2 years.

This is laughable. Stanback, Ball, brown, and watkins are fighting for their lives just to make the team, forget about making an impact. Marten is already gone.

That leaves Carpenter who hasn't made an impact, Hacther whom if he's made an impact earlier would've pushed Greg Ellis out of here sooner.

Mcquistian hasn't proved to be a solid player to me. Spencer like i've stated is a work in progress, not a bust, but he needs to get moving.

Again, with the exception of Folk these two classes look bad.

IF these players were such solid contributors to the team why are they looking to be replaced. Just because they might cacth on with another team dosen't mean they're any good.

I hate to tell you this, but it's a good thing when guys are fighting just to make a team. It isn't that hard a concept man.

One **** and it's labeled profanity laced, lol.

And he named two drafts. But keep on being a homer.

You're going to have to forgive some of the people here DC. They get overly sensitive, with their thin skinned selves. Thats why so many other countries hate America, we're such sissies. OMG he said a bad word!!!!

BIG FREAKING DEAL!

But back to the topic at hand. You wont find pro bowlers in every round of the draft, no team does.

That's funny. I challenge you to show me one post in my 71,000+ worth of evidence where I have ever said Jerry Jones is the best GM in the NFL.

I'll bet you 3 kicks in the nuts you can't do it.

You taking the bet, showing a yellow streak up your back, or eating crow?

I'll even make the bet more interesting. You can wear steel toed boots if you can prove I have said that or think that.

I expect more spin control and lame smilies. You've got nothing and everyone knows it. You're just proving it more with every post.

Yeah, you never said Jerry was one of the best GM's in the NFL.

You have defended him on my show.

And we are still at 0 playoff wins.

And I have everything. I have two crappy drafts that everyone knows are crappy but you.

Because Nick Folk is your one impact player, lol.

I have absolutely defended him. You accused me of saying he's the best GM in the NFL. Those are your words. You called it my schtick. The two things are not equal.

Either take the bet, admit cowardice, or man up. It's that easy.

7 kicks for you. 2 for me. Come on.
