Vikings Trading For Sam Bradford

I heard several in the NFL world picking the Vikings to reach the SB prior to Bridgwater's injury. They finished ahead of Green Bay at 11-5 last season and many felt they were on the verge of taking the next step. They won't be able to compete against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers with Shaun Hill. When you breakdown the Vikings they have a very solid team that's ascending. It would be a panic move to give up a #1 for Bradford but he would give them a lot better chance than the QBs they have and would provide insurance in the event Bridgewater doesn't return to form.

Bradford does give the Vikes a better chance than hill. So, what? It doesn't give them a great chance to win a Superbowl. That is what they need to do to justify a 1st round pick. Bradford isn't good enough. I don't think the Vikes as a whole are good enough to win it. I read most prognosticators picking the Packers to win the North prior to the Bridgewater injury. A QB who has been in the system. Now they have to rely on a QB with no time in the system. Not worth a 1st round pick in my opinion.

Between contracts, picks, etc Bradford has to be the most weirdly valued player in the history of the league, if not professional sports. That trade value makes no sense.

I read an article the other day that said an orthopedic surgeon told the media that Bridgewater's knee looked like when someone is "injured in a car accident or falls off a cliff." For a non-contact injury that's pretty crazy. They even speculated that it could take anywhere from 1 to 2 years to rehab and fully heal. I think the Vikings FO is not sharing everything they know and this move kind of confirms that. People on the Vikings board were talking about how their OL is not that good. Bradford may not survive the season there. But kudos to the Vikes for at least trying for an opportunity at a SB season.....

I thought that too. But I felt this way from the very beginning hearing about the players reactions to the injury. I knew there was more to it.

I'm reading a Rick Gosselin story on the Newsfeed page that highlights Bradford having a career-best season last year, while simultaneously seeing the ESPN ticker note that he had the third or fourth lowest QBR in the NFL last year. o_O

Everyone has an opinion and I heard several picking the Vikings to go to the SB prior to Bridewater's injury. Not saying I agree but many prognosticators were high on them prior to Bridgwater going down. I think on the right team and being able to lean on a back like Peterson Bradford is good enough. He's not a great player but he's capable of playing great and did perform very solid the final few games last season despite he and several other players being a poor fit in Kelly's offense. If the Vikings give up a #1 for Bradford then it shows how little confidence they have in their current QB situation and their unsureness of how Bridewater will return from his injury.

That's pretty amazing when you look at those names.

Sounds like the Eagles are going to start Wentz which means they are prepared to take their lumps and hope he develops. It really could be the NFC Least this year.

Being the sweetest smelling turd in the bowl doesn't make it any less of a turd.

Bridgewater has a scheduled cap hit of just over $2 million for 2017. Bradford will have one close to $17 million in 2017 if the Vikes have to keep him. Trading for Bradford makes some sense. Trading a 1st round pick along with another pick makes no sense.

technically ones best season, could still suck. Just because its your best, doesnt mean its on par with the rest

If this does go down, then Wentz is gonna take a beating this year.

I really can't see giving up a first for Bradford. As other folks have said,he's pretty injury prone.I could see a 2nd bundled with a lower round pick ,but not a first.

The Eagles lucked out. They could have a top ten pick in 2017.As a life long Dallas fan, that sucks.

I wouldn't give up another pick along with a #1 but like I said every season is precious and if you have a contender in place to make a legit run and you're in the spot the Vikings are in without a QB, Bradford would be worth the risk in my opinion.

Hey now I've got my hopes up that if Peterson goes down we can get their 2018 first for McFadden.
