Only fight I remember him getting in was getting on some guy's case for being too rough..some rookie DB headhunting in practice or something like that, and his teamates were happy he did it.

Dude he pretty much singlehandedly took the team to the playoffs two years in a row and won the national championship game on his own too. There aren't a lot of QBs who are amazing right out of college, but Young certainly has had more success than most. His numbers might not be great, but he has found ways to get his offense down the field and win games.

He singlehandedly pronounced he has a weak mind by contemplating quitting football. If he's on my team I would officially be worried.

Titans were 8-3 in games in which Haynesworth started and 0-3 in games in which he did not play.

That pretty much sums it up.

If Vince Young deserves credit for the Titans making the playoffs, you'd better give Rex Grossman the same amount of credit for taking the Bears to the Super Bowl.

Reality = Vince sucks, until he proves otherwise.

He should've quit and then sued the press for portraying him way better than he is. Then they could've counter sued for him buying into the hype. Would've made great reality T.V.

this is true..

vince is what he is...a tall , agile, athletic running back with deceptive speed.

who just happens to play qb.

Not really true, since he made a lot of plays and lead many a 4th quarter comeback in 06. He was more responsible than any other one player on that team for having the season they did.

Which plays and how many comebacks? If anyone wants to place the credit on anyone, it should be Fisher for pulling his hair out trying to figure ways to keep this kid out of trouble come game days.

Yeah, he was so awesome in 2006 that he only CONSIDERED retirement before the next season. He didn't actually go through with it!

As of May 23, 2008, he's a weak-minded, thin-skinned, mediocre QB. Paint him as anything else and you're completely fooling yourself.

Nothing to see here folks. Just some bitter Oklahoma/USC fans having trouble coping. Move right along...

Well I don't have them memorized but there were several 4th quarter comebacks in 06, like against the Giants down by something like 3 touchtowns in the 4th. And he made the winning plays whether throwing or running for a TD. Then there's the 50 yard walk off touchdown run in OT vs Houston. And some others. He said the reasons for his considerations and it had nothing to do with his horrible Rookie of the Year 06 season, obviously.

One thing not mentioned is they have a new OC. Chow was horrible for him as far as the offense implemented and the play calling. 1st down, run up the middle for 2 yards. Second down, run up the middle for a yard. Third and long, pass. Couldn't get into a rhythm that way. Last season when they opened it up and put him in a shotgun 2 minute drill he looked great throwing the ball and got into a rhythm. Should have done that more. Might not have been the offense Chow wanted to run, but you have to adapt to your players to some extent. Sounds like they think the new OC will know how to use him, we'll see. Just some decent play calling will help.

Haha I'm from California, hate USC, and have nothing against Vince. He was awesome in college, but he sucks as an NFL QB. Only a Longhorn homer would think anything different.

Add the fact that he's a thin-skinned pansy who wanted to retire after his rookie year. I'm not a fan of tin-men athletes, sorry.

July 27, 2007: Tennessee Titans' training camp opens.

August 14, 2007: Madden NFL 08 releases with Vincy Young on its cover.

I guess EA Sports dodged a bullet there, huh, Vince?

The Titans offense scored 30+ points once last season.

It was 38... and it was in the only game that Kerry Collins started in place of Vince Young.

He was the next great one? I never understood that notion in the first place.
